thing is "Tuffers" you will most likely now be banned for using the word 'Bummers' this place has become soooooo politically correct to the point of ridiculous. Theres a kind of self appointed thought police who kick off at the merest risqué comment. They will now show themselves as they have a go at me as they comment on my reply here.

Jay is still around and S.M turns up every now and again to have a bitch about summat then leaves without saying taraaaaa.

Lots of the old guard do still come on but not anywhere near as much as the old days. Shame really because it was top notch comedy back then.

 

Dragon is still full of rage and angst.

 

no mate its true, anything remotely Political, sexist , homophobic... in fact anything ending is 'ist or 'ism and they jump right down yer throat. But it is a set of certain ones who you will be guaranteed to react. If they ever saw a Bernard Manning show or indeed many of the 60's/70's comedy shows they would shrivel up and die in horror. Even nowadays if they ever went to see greats such as Micky Flannagan, Chubby Brown, Billy Connolly , etc etc they would suffer the same fate . Likewise they could never ever sit through a Benny Hill show, Morecambe and Wise, Little and Large, Lilly Savage, Dick Emery... you get my drift. The old Music hall, seaside postcard humour is not allowed anymore on here. "OO Err Missus" its a no go mate. You now have to be totally Vanilla.

There's a few of us old timers on Facebook, chewing the cud occasionally. Airtyke, Wakeyred, Vinny, MickyF.

Indeed I did. Was John M on the old BBS. Had a pint or three with you in the Outpost back in the day. I'm now living in St Petersburg (Russia, not Florida unfortunately, long story!) but still make it back for a few games most seasons.

 

I blame Facebook for the state of debate on here. We had a social network here years before social networks were even invented. We never realised what we were sat on until all the random jokes and memes and general chit chat found their way out of here and onto the social networks and we were left with a football site!

But yeah, some of the old guard are still around and some of the new guard are a good laugh too. It may be more like other clubs' forums than the somewhat unique community the BBS of old had built up but it's still worth sticking around.
