Does anyone actually follow the score through the BBS? Don’t normally look on the forum during games but today I did and found it strange how many people post the score in varying threads. If I’m not at the game and have no access to a radio/player I usually use flashscores. I’d have thought most of us come on here to read reports of games and get some reaction but not actually check the score?
Here in Dubai, I have open the BBS, the official site, Twitter page and BBC sport live text. I find the score and any other news come quickest from the BBS. I was watching a game live the other week when my son told me we'd scored an equalizer while he was reading the BBS (not sure how that works).
I do, although I listen on iFollow as well when I'm not actually at the match. As others have said, the scores often come through first on the BBS before any of the other channels, even the so-called "live" commentary.
Interesting, I wondered who would benefit from the scores being updated on here. BBC was slow when I used to use it compared to others. I imagine the BBS and Twitter would both be quicker. Flashscores is very quick it updates within seconds. However you may find the scorer of the goal quicker on here depending on who’s updating and where they are viewing the result. That can take a little longer on flashscores.
If a match is live on Radio Sheffield, it is around two minutes in front of the internet, which allows posting time on the BBS.
Always use the BBS as my first port of call when on holiday to see how we have got on. I also think people use the board as a sort of chat room and so they post 'ffs 1-2' etc. as if they are having a conversation with someone and speaking their initial reaction. I don't think people are particularly posting it with the purpose of informing other people who may be looking for the score.
I noticed this aft your "Spoiler" warning in the chat area. The thing is, it doesn't work. As soon as I saw the "Spoiler" warning I knew full well what had just happened anyway
I wondered that, but then I figured that you'd be that excited if we scored that you wouldn't mess about with the spoiler thingy! Anyway, I still believe....
Agreed, interesting 3 weeks ahead. I won't stop believing, some we'll win, some we'll lose, but we'll go on and on and on and on...
For sure, just got rid of the family (out for new year) When you're driving past sustainable city, call in (I leave just after 1700). 052 678 1813
If I'm not at the game and I'm at home I always use the BBS first. I'd get really bored sat looking at flashscores for two hours and I find the clubs twitter feed extremely biased (understandably) and it can get for 15 minutes without any change or update so it's the same flashscores problem. On the BBS you still get to post about completely random ******** and about the game at the same time. And you get to hear different people give their opinion on what's happening and see how different people handle things as well. It has all of the good points of the BBS on a regular day but with the added fun of seeing people get way too excited over posting the words 'you reds' (weirdos). The perfect combination is BBS and ifollow when it works
