If I remember correctly, those "new" bungalows were to the lower end of the Dillington pub and race track and the land was derelict for quite some time before they were built, as we used to walk down to Oakwell through the rough derelict land. Possibly that's where the old brewery was??

Wow! I'm impressed at the level of dedication you had in your research - all I've ever done is wonder about things without doing sod all about it! Maybe I may be persuaded to get off my fat a**se and do summat?

Oh and the old cinema on Britannia St was known as the "Bugs Hut" owing to the filthy state it was kept in - I'll leave the rest up to your imagination!
