Turned a mediocre league one Preston side into a very good championship team on a similar budget to ours. Two top half finishes with them when they went up.Signed young players such as Pearson, ( who is much much better than he was for us) Hugill, Harrop, Robinson, Barkuizen. Also signed Greg Cunningham, one of the best full backs in the league. Laid the foundations for Alex Neil to take them onto playoff contenders. Could sign similar young players here and we could improve them much like we have done in the past. Yes he was awful at sunderland but so is everybody. I think even Coleman has done worse than he did but don’t quote me on that. I just seem to remember them being just outside the bottom three under Grayson.
No thanks, we need someone who's used to winning, going from a losing team to another losing team isn't going to do anyone any favours.
Sunderland are an exception. They are utterly woeful as evidenced by their performance when we played them.
Simon Grayson or Paul Hurst for me. Simon Grayson has a good league one promotion record but Paul Hurst’s record is very impressive.
Simon Grayson for me too. We need to be a bit more 'clever' on the pitch if were to get out of this ****.
Yep he would be my third choice - just not sure if he has enough experience Nigel Clough might be worth considering but perhaps not quite the right fit
Grayson. No ta. Dour bloke dour football. We would have to change the kit to grey. If we appoint someone English Hurst, Alexander those lads at Lincoln. Someone who can motivate and move us forward.
I think to keep us up I'd take Grayson - might make us a bit more mean and street wise, lets face it we need someone who's going to get us results sod the sunny football.
Cowley brothers for me. Realistically we’re not going to throw money at anyone. I’d take these two, someone higher up is gonna give them a chance at some point.
Just had a conversation with a Leeds fan at work who's not happy at Hecky's appointment and used the words "all we want is Grayson back. He was the best manager we've had and was driven out by Bates." Given that, I hope we appoint him now.
