4 days later he joins Leeds. Something not right here, the club should ask the FA to investigate this.
Bet both parties knew he was off to Leeds back then. By signing a new contract on increased terms, we get more compo.
Do we get more compo as could have negotiated but now stuck with a set fee. Def been played and wasted lot of GGs time
Am I right in thinking Leeds triggered a release clause? I very much hope that release clause was in his contract previously and wasn't inserted as part of these negotiations.
I’m very surprised that the whole backroom have gone with him so quickly - this looks more pre-meditated than I originally thought. For each one to agree to move within 24 hours, they must all have discussed it and agreed it. If they have all wanted out for a long time, then it wouldn’t have escaped the players. Also what MacDonald could have been aluding too in his now deleted tweet. Form dipped around the time he failed to land the Sunderland job. Wonder if Yiadom might be ending up at Leeds in the summer on a free transfer. Wouldn’t surprise me.
they must also have discussed it with Leeds too, the more I think about the more it sucks. An FA investigation should be requested by Barnsley.
There's no doubt in my mind that when Hecky negotiated/signed his new contract he knew that Leeds were willing to meet the release fee.
Remember guys it is our money we are the season ticket holders/match tickets. We should get a petition and send it to the FA asking for an investigation. This stinks!
Speaking hypothetically. A football club manager stalls and stalls and stalls on signing his new contract which includes a newly inserted release clause, without which he'd be subject to 12 months notice. He signs it the day before another club sack their manager and that club then triggers this release clause, meaning he can move immediately. Also in this remarkably short time frame 3 other people's contracts and terms/conditions etc are also negotiated. That's quite a series of coincidences. Wonder if it could ever happen in reality.
