Go and try to get Frank De Boer and promise him a fair sized transfer kitty in the summer. This division is not a place for up and coming managers anymore from League 2. We've done that too much in the last decade or so. Time for a new hero, that can put bums on seats and attract some better players. Speculate to accumulate. Not sure how much he's on like, but its the square route of **** all at the moment.
This ^^^^ we need a new approach.. like u said league 2 managers, been there done that when we were skint
You think we could attract a manager like De Boer? We struggled to attract a player that was struggling for game time in the French second division. Lets be realistic.
I saw Craig Bellemy was very close to the Wales job so he must have impressed.Seems very articulate when on tv and would certainly put fire in the players bellies.
Managers are actually a little bit different to players but I agree it would be a long shot, but hes not in a job at the minute and will be itching to get back. If those French players were at the end of their contract with no offers on the table, would be here in a shot pulling on that Red Shirt and saying how amazing a move its been.
I heard some pretty dire reports out of Palace, from people inside the club, about his brief tenure. Baffling tactics and man-management style and some really terrible football. Unpopular with pretty much everyone there.
Not sure about that one though, no experience and he can be seen as being abrasive, although some people who I know, who played with him said he's far different to how he is on field.
Maybe baffling though because Palace had a team full of cloggers and Zahar. He did well at Ajax but tried to bring that philosophy to Palace, which was too big a sea change. In De Boer I'm just using him as an example really, I'm sure theres a fair few of similar ilk that could be tempted by the project with these amazing human beings.
Have i dropped onto the swfc forum? They are proof big names get you nowhere. We just need a bright young manager that understands our young players enough to get the best out of them. Wonder what all the players that came here because of Hecky will think of it all. They may need a pick me up.
