It's time we looked above the lower leagues for a manager and got some experience in...

Nothing is certain obviously but I'd feel far more confident of stopping up with someone who's managed at this level and knows what it's all about and how to win.

    Monk
    Warburton
    Grayson

These 3 all fit the bill in different ways for me.... If our new owners don't want a revolt on their hands in May they need to get the right man in and might have to pay more than peanuts.

All plenty of experience in failure. Warburton left Brentford because he didn’t like the spreadsheet approach

Unfair on Grayson that. Sunderland is a toxic club, and he’s done pretty well other than that.

There's only 2 types of manager, those that have been sacked and those that are going to get sacked.

Most managers are sacked a few times though or leave by 'mutual consent'

I know that but the football manager merry go round sickens me. Why would you employ a manager dismissed from 60 percent of his jobs for incompetence and left the other 2 first chance he got for bigger clubs. Let’s svoid the failure experts.

How about managers moved on because owners/fans have unrealistic expectations ?

Yep - good sense - but if we hang about as usual it will be too late.
Been there before seen that we've dun that - and the player manager too - it did work then but not now - need someone to galvanise the players - give them belief - a game plan to play to their strengths - be strong with them and needs to command respect - quickly - or we go down - do we punt on a keep us up and then see ? or a longer term prospect - well Heckbum was longer term and look where we are - reckon it's got to be a big name with proven credibility - who? For me pay some money and shock us ....

If we were looking at a formula for success we would appoint from m within. Been far more successful for us than external recruitment

I just want us to show some ambition for once and get a manager in that isn't still learning or coming in from the lower leagues in the hope that we can get away with a cheap option coming good.

It's a massive chance for the new owners to put a marker down and show us fans what direction they want to take us in... It's no good harping on about revenue streams and match day experience then looking like dropping a division while sending season ticket renewal packs out in April.

We need a manager in who can get the best out of these youngsters as well as being able to get some players in during the summer to help us either win league 1 or push up the championship table.

I can see that, only Clarke v1 and Bassett came from the outside.

I'd be amazed if any of our fans know how good any of our coaches are, Dave, or if any are potential manages & Head Coaches, although I'm certain some will claim they do.:D

I definitely don’t. If it were up to me it tell Adam to hang his boots up and give him the job because I’m a sentimental idiot.
