Townsend - 7 - A solid enough display today given the circumstances and lack of match practice. Claimed a few crosses and distributed well. Initially I was thought he should have come and claimed before the penalty however after seeing it again he’d have probably been at risk of giving away a pen himself and joao was running away from goal so the risk wasn’t worth it.

Yiadom - 7.5 - No one can question his commitment after today. Flew into every 50-50 and made the ball his. Defended well and got forward where he could. Seems to thrive off wearing the captains armband. Unlucky with the penalty.

Mills - 6.5 - Steady performance. Solid enough. Did well against 2 poor but awkward strikers.

    Lindsay - 6.5 - same as Mills.

Pinnilos - 6.5 - Solid enough and tried to support Hammill in attack.

Isgrove - 8 - He’s brilliant. Makes the team tick. Like he did for us in League One he sets the tempo of the whole team. When he was on we were good. When he went off we looked poor.

Hammill - 7 - Tried his best. Not the player he wants to be at this level but he never gives up. With a bit of luck he’d have got an assist and won penalty. He understands the fans and we need him in the side for that.

Williams - 4 - Poor. Tackled well but used the ball terribly.

Gardner - 5 - Our centre mids won the battle today but had nothing on the ball. Gave the ball away less than Williams.

Bradshaw - 5 - More involved than usual as he actually had chances today. Forced a very good save from Wildsmith. His first touch is woeful though and he doesn’t use the ball well. I always feel a bit flat when he doesn’t get subbed.

McBurnie - 8.5 - If he’d have scored the header from the Hammill cross and we’d got the win he’d be looking a 10/10. Did everything expected outside the box. Won headers, won the battles, brought others in to play. Made his own goal which is something we’ve been lacking all season. Very good home debut.

    Subs

Mahoney -2- Shocking. Looked like he didn’t want to be on the field. Similar effort levels to what we saw from Thiam against Fulham however I don’t think he has the excuse of injury. Maybe he’s low on confidence. I’d rather have brought Moncur on though and played him out of position. Mahoney actually looked like CM playing outwide.

Moore - 5 - caused a few problems but missed a decent chance with his head. Always seems to be involved which is a positive.

Thought mills and Lindsay were decent today , Williams and Gardner are too similar players . Maybe in away games play them in midfield but at home they make us a bit defensive

Agree with part of that but I thought Isgrove was woeful at times today.

Thought Williams deserved a 5 but agree with you on all the others. Thought Wildsmith deserved a 10. Two worldies in first half

Believe it or not I agree with all that except Williams - 7. Decent game for me.

    Agree with most of that.

One disappointment with Isgrove was he didn’t spot McBurnie’s run & play him in & instead went wide to Hammil, all it needed was a fairly routine through ball & McBurnie was one on one.

Lindsay made an exceptional interception late on when Wednesday nearly played a man through one on one, probably saved us a point

Think it was Bradshaw he didn’t play through.

    Definitely the wrong decision though.

However we are just a better team when he’s on the field. Results probably show that too.

Agree, he reminds me a bit of Ji Sung Park at Man Utd, you can’t really think of anything memorable that he does but the team always does better with him in it

Disagree with your marks for Yiadom 6 from me. Three attempts at a shot when he should have passed or crossed, and all way over the bar.

I just think when we needed a leader he stepped up.

So many players have crumbled under the armband recently.

    Mawson, Macdonald, Davies.

Big credit to Yiadom. He gave his all and performed well. Didn’t shirk a tackle once, including going in with his head first for one challenge. This is all despite his contract running out and having recently missed out on a move due to injury. Many wouldn’t be up for the fight, he clearly is.

    I watched all the game.

His passing was awful. Certainly not class. Far from it in fact, gave the ball back to the opposition on at least 5 separate occasions.

Ok then so why would a lot of people disagree with you because everyone around me loves him also why has he managed to get 84% pass completion highest in our team, the lad tackled passed it drove forward defended well I thought he was really good along with a lot of other people, Infact I think a lot of your ratings are really negative sums most of our fans up really the team played well today something to build on, to try and stay up.

Tend to agree with Kev, thought Williams had a good game today. Just shows, all about opinions...

Why would a lot of people also disagree with you?

What did you think to his back heel flick attempt in the middle of the pitch that gave possession away?

If the ref doesn’t give the penalty and we win 1-0, perhaps the ratings are better...
