It's looking very likely that whoever gets the job will be the manager of a League One club next Season. Even if we can afford a more experienced, higher profile manager would any of them come? The only way round it is as far as I can see, is for us to make a short term appointment to the end of the season with an option to extend if he keeps us up, if not he walks away. Other than that it's a young (gulp) Heckingbottom type manager who has nothing to lose but knows that he can make a name for himself by keeping us up.
The only way forward for us is for the new owners to change tack and run the club like any other championship club and buy quality and pay for it accordingly. That is, if they truly do have any aspirations of the premier league again, sometime in barnsleys future.
Keith Bastardfeatures. Currently managing Barnstoneworth United, top of the Rumbelows Sad ***** league. All from his cell at HMP Wakefield.
only 50% of which were "Credible" or something like that and even in football management some people will be desperate for a job. So I wonder how many serious contenders that leaves.
Wouldn't want him. Showed what kind of a person he is when he signed for Galatasaray with his Leeds history. That was worse than Heckingbottom joining Leeds from us.
Jesus wept, there's some pessimists on here. If there were three games left, I'd understand it, but c'mon - loads of mileage left in this one yet.
It's not looking very likely at all. We've a decent chance of staying up. At this stage of the season there are no teams in any of the 4 divisions that are "very likely" to go down, apart from perhaps Bury in League 1 who are effectively 10 points from safety. In our division, not even Burton and Sunderland are "very likely" to go down. We may well go down, but nothing is decided yet. In the meantime, imagine you are giving a motivational team talk in the dressing room. Would you start off with "Right lads, we've very likely to go down, but forget that. What I want you to do is......."
Does that include all the championship clubs in or around us ? If so it’s not working for them very good is it
If our owners speak up and let everyone know we are serious then a lot of managers should be queueing up.
We'll know a lot more after our next 3 games. If we go through those winless then i struggle to see how we will stay up. On the othwr hand if we can pull a couple of wins out then everything changes again
Right now I'd be saying "Right lads, just about everyone is writing us off to be relegated. Let's go out and show 'em they can stick it right up their @rse!" I will admit I'm basing my opinion without the benefit of seeing them in action so I'm more than happy to be shouted down by those go regularly. It's just that results and what I read on here don't give me great grounds for optimism. In fact I will go so far as to say I've never wanted to be proven wrong so much!
I’d have thought a lot worse of Kewell if he’d judged a whole fan base based on the actions of a couple of scumbags
When have shareholders been asked about this sort of stuff? The CEO is the mouthpiece. Chairman will make the announcement though. Get wi' tha programme
