I don’t believe that for a second. Moncur’s never had a game on the wing ever?

Moncur was superb against Fulham at home. Why on earth would you consider dropping him for Motley - Henry who’s never played above league 2 or for Hedges who clearly wasn’t fully fit. You’re just inventing things to have a go at him for.

    My point is.

In Heckys opinion it’s fine for a player to be a strong defender but a weak attacker.

But it isn’t fine for a player to be a strong attacker but a weak defender.

For example, Stefan Payne was publicly criticised for not being able to defend at corners. I also feel it will be the reason Hecky wouldn’t give him a chance.

Also despite his favoured formation being 4-4-2.

When playing 4-5-1 he would only ever make a place for CMD and go -

    4-1-4-1

Why did he never look for the more positive option of -

    4-4-1-1

He was absolutely fine with playing a defensive midfielder with little attacking responsibility.

However he was absolutely against playing an attacking midfielder with little defensive responsibility.

When you look back with hind sight. I think. We were all very blinded by how negative Hecky actually was especially this season. He had virtually no belief in most of the players apart from Williams and some of the defenders. That’s how I interpret things anyway.

One thing he definitely had was a biased against number 10s. Hopefully with someone that believes in them, our most technically gifted players will now flourish. Rather than been beaten down for everything they can’t do.

Porto, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea and ......?

He has never played on the wing before he is a number 10. He did well against Fulham did his best playing a position he is not used to he hasn't enough pace to play on the wing. I just like my wingers to play on the wing that's all. Hedges was fit enough to start QPR but hecky stuck with moncur.

We will soon see if a new coaching setup can get anything extra out of these players won't we?

Thats interesting to see fans suggest Mallan as one of the back two in midfield, rather than one of the front three (if you can call it that).
Maybe this will be Moncur's last chance at the coveted number 10 role, but Im also wondering where if anywhere will McGeehan & Mowatt be when their loans end.

Im surprised we stuck with Hecky so long and have now got to sign up Morais as the new coach. Clearly there is lots of 'highly rated' coaches just on here who know much better how to coach players, select teams and manage players ;)
