Think of the great keepers we have had. Harry Hough. Dave Watson. Heinz Muller....

Agree, brave too.The first keeper I remember was Pierce. Did he get injured after the 80/81 promotion season, we had Bobby Horn in goal all season in 81/82?

Think you could be right , I liked Bobby Horn as well & if my memory is correct , the poor lad suffered from a freak bounce on the new artificial grass at QPR & conceded a goal which would have never happened on normal turf

Your memory is spot on. Televised game, one of very few played on the day due to snow and ice.

Yeah that’s right, forgot about him. Had a bad start, then actually came good and was decent, then Watson took over, so he was unlucky. You’re right, after leaving us he played well until retirement, an was a decent keeper.

I think Davies will be a good keeper. If he was already a top keeper he would have been off with the rest of them.

Still only young so plenty of time for him to improve and iron out the problem areas.

Davies is a good keeper and still very much a young keeper as well, but deserved dropping was becoming complacent and made too many errors. Whether we get relegate or not we need another 1st team keeper next season and Townsend needs moving on.

You would have to compare him with other keepers. I would imagine hes made more than the average number of mistakes. He's definitely better than Townsend.

Am I right to say we won every game Glyn Riley played in goal for us?
