Looks like the story about MacDonald and Bradshaw’s missus was a load of ***** (as suspected). As seen on their conversation on twitter. Begs the question then, what was it? Just a falling out with Hecky? Probably 4th choice CB when he was here but the iron deficiency story made it seem a bit weird.
I think something happened in the dressing-room at half-time in the game at Reading. I don't know this, I stress, but I suspect it is the case.
Yeah that would explained why he was hauled off. There’s a lot of rumours around and I’d quite like to know some truth but I suppose we’ll never know, oh well.
Not fussed what Angus has supposed to have done. He's not our player. Am fussed about speculation that is continuing to disrupt existing players at the club - e.g. Bradshaw being asked on Twitter. Just no need. The fact that Gus has contradicted the iron deficiency story only draws attention to himself - odd if you've been up to no good and that's the explanation.
Where there is no need is for supposed fans to be abusing players or former players on twitter. Angus did exactly right to defend himself and ask his friend to collaborate his story. By the way he's retweeted this which suggests this is what he considers to be the true story
Agree.. not our player. Not sure of the need for gossip. (aside from the habitual "I know something you don't know") Alot of rumours circulating. Not all can be true, and none good for BFC. I don't have a problem with Angus. Just move on.
We of course should move on. The only reason I would like some kind of reasoning to the transfer is due to the fact that we're low on fit centre backs and the one we sold is now playing well for a relegation rival. No personal grudge against Angus, nor do I feel we should be privy to any details, but some kind of justification or explanation would have been nice in January. Anyway it's gone now.
Agreed - he isn't the first player to fall out of favour with a manager for whatever reason, lets be honest talking about his personal relationships as though thats a reason for him being sidelined just seems like a load of gossip to me - if we were to pick players based on sexual rectitude then we'd probably have a missed out on some of the best players this club has ever had. Selling him to a relegation rival for 700k when we are down to playing Pearson at Centre Half and then having to get Mills tells me that the relationship with Hecky was beyond reproach - I wonder if Judas had gone to Leeds earlier in the transfer window if we'd have still sold him?
The explanation is it was a good move for all parties. He was finished at Barnsley. No where near getting a start under the old management.
seems like he fell out with Hecky, made that weird tweet (assume was aimed at Hecky) as soon as he joined leeds the other week
We didn’t have to get Mills, we wanted Mills. We only agreed to sell Angus because we knew we’d got Mills
There’s all sorts of rumours about his personal life which I’ll not go into but for purely football reasons it made sense to sell him. Logic would suggest he was our biggest earning centre back as he’d signed a new deal towards the end of last season as a proven championship player where as Jackson, Pinnock & Lindsay had come from lower levels. It’s not good business to have your 4th choice centre back earning more than the 3 ahead of him, how long until the agents of them three are at Gauthier’s door asking why aren’t we been paid as much as MacDonald? So we’ve 3 good, young centre backs who we feel are better than him & we’ve got the experienced Mills coming in short term & Pearson who can do an ok job at centre back as a 5th choice & we’ve got rid of one of our biggest earners without weakening our first team. What’s not to like? The only thing I don’t like is that he’s gone to a relegation rival but with the forwards we’ve signed in January & the strength in depth we now have with Moore, McBurnie, Pinillos, Mills, Knasmullner & Mahoney joining & the returns to fitness of Isgrove, Hedges, Pinnock, Cavare & Gardner who barely played in the first half of the season then it’s all in our own hands. If we finish below Hull it’s because we’ve messed up on the pitch not because we’ve sold MacDonald to Hull.
Can anyone point out which of the 7 hull city defenders around the lone McBurnie as he scored on Tuesday was Angus. Good buiness IMHO
From memory wasn't he stood in front of Brad Potts before he crossed the ball for Oli to head home.? Can't be too critical, because like we've been doing ( re- Burton etc) he failed to close the space down thus allowing the cross to go in. We did it later in the game when Hull got their goal. We really do have to start scrapping for every single ball otherwise we will concede goals that could prove very costly on the run in.
