I think at a million he would have been a decent buy. There is a good player in there, but he is raw & learning his trade with us. Sadly this highlights the problem with the loan system. Players that are learning & at times struggling we are expected to play over our own players & if they do well, like Harvey Barnes, they are recalled. McBurnie loan is different, as is Gardiner, they are players up to speed at this level. I'd rather otherwise we developed players that are under contract to us, so if they do well we profit on them when they move on.
Mate Williams has far from struggled this year he’s been miles better than Gardner who has played near enough 100 league games, we have been lucky to have him and he’s the best centre mid at the club by a long way even if we did put a bid in again he would be going to a bigger team than us which is a shame
Good for you, but that only entitles you to an opinion on a player , it does not make you anymore qualified than others that didnt go to talk about Williams. He has looked poor since Christmas to a lot of people, you see it differently. Life would be boring if we all were the same.
He hasn’t been poor since Christmas at all we went on a good little run before he got suspended then didn’t win a game when he was suspended he come back in and we got points on the board again give the kid a break where lucky to have him
If I’m being honest And I really really hope I’m wrong here but can see him mcburnie Yiadom joining hecky at Leeds that’s if he dosent get into Everton’s team and mcburnie dosent get in to Swansea’s but Yiadom I think is going to go there in the summer hope I’m wrong mind
With all due respect I think it is utterly stupid to continually **** up our team playing substandard loanees who dont know what They're doing just so that a premiership team can have a player with experience handed to them while our own players rot in the under 23s. Not a point specifically about Williams but a general one. Williams, ugbo, Kent, elder, Armstrong, Wilkinson, Toney, Crowley, Pearson, rothwell. Sure we've had some good ones too but Jesus Christ we've had some dross and the annoying thing is that the club have persevered with those players and given them chance after chance while our own youngsters have been dropped and shipped out
Pearson clearly new what he was doing he was another one who would play well consistently most of the time abit simalar to Williams but fans would get on his back no wonder he left and is at a better club now fans would love him back now I bet ? Armstrong aswell done good I think it’s disrespectful to speak about them like this there showing a lot of fight when they play for us and putting in 100% every week it also shows some guts to come out on loan and play men’s football maybe our under 23s not playing should do the same thing and show some fight to play men’s football somwere else then come back and make a name for themselves just like the lads who come on loan to us are doing
I think you are being very harsh if you are saying that Williams is substandard , he has been no different than most players this season , his form has been up & down but what you are overlooking is that Everton did not dump him on us, we went to Everton & requested to borrow one of their players & I can see no reason for us loaning a player & not using him , my own thoughts are that with our current squad he is the best option in the position he plays & we miss him when he is not in the team
I agree mate I think people are expecting abit to much the past month or so because he started so well but I agree think it’s very harsh
I thought he was okay he weren’t on for very long but he was straight on all the set plays and put some good balls in the box I like him think he could play a big part in the next few weeks felt sorry for him at the start of the season cause he scored some good goals and important ones especially the winner against forest
Its a 240 mile round trip for a home game and i recently did a 170 mile round trip to see us against Brum. We are all supporters. We all have different opinions, doesn't make one of us better than another.
Alls I was saying is how can you judge someone’s performance if most people commenting didn’t even go just watched a few highlights when the people who actually went new who played well and who never and didn’t just decide from the highlights
Based on going or not. He made some pretty basic errors. Cant use some bits of good play to totally overlook the bad bits.
I watched the whole game he done lots of good things at the centre of everything we did you have seen one tackle and pass on the highlights and judging him of that
Some people have different views I just feel he’s done a hell of a job for us so far this season especially for a loanee on his debut season but obviously it’s all opinions I think he will be a top top player
