I'd go with; Davies Pearson Jackson Lindsay Yiadom Hammill Moncur Gardner Isgrove Mcburnie Bradshaw Subs: Townsend, McCarthy, Moore, Williams, Thiam, Pinnock, Hedges
He's arguably our most talented player on the ball, and at times these last few games we have been crying out for his creativity. Plus anything is better than the combination of Wiliams & Gardner. Just a shame his work rate is severely lacking.
How many more chances does he get to flatter to deceive? We see very little of this creativity. His hairstyle is creative, I'll give him that.
To be fair he was the only one who looked to drive forward and create in the last match. Can't hurt giving him a start, not like potts, gardner or mallan particularly deserve to keep their place based on recent performances.
Correct. He hasn't had his chance under Jose yet however, so you never know, plus will he be playing for a new contract or putting himself in the shop window? Not sure if his contract is up soon... Like i say, he's got to be a better option than the Williams Gardner partnership, and he's way more mobile than Potts.
He's got another year to run. I stand to be proved wrong and hope I am but I do know what we will get from him.
Ok - if I see that team sheet an hour before the match I’ll be staying in the pub. No - FFS !!! It needs to be: .............................. Davis Defender - defefender - defender - defender WINGER - midfielder - midfielder - WINGER ..................McBURNIE - MOORE If it’s not that formation - then there’s a massive chance we will LOSE !!!
I’m not a fan of 4-4-2 at all as I don’t agree with the rhetoric that having two central strikers necessarily makes you more of an attacking force particularly when your midfield is pegged back and is overrun because they simply can’t compete at this level. That being said, we are where we are and it’s not as though 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 or any other system has particularly paid dividends since January 2017 either. If we go 4-4-2 I’d go with :- Davies Cavaré, Jackson, Lindsay/Pinnock, Yiadom Thiam, Gardner, Potts/Williams, Hammill Moore, McBurnie I appreciate that’ll be an unpopular opinion but I suppose it’s each to their own.
Yer right. I’m not a massive fan of 442 either. BUT - in desperate situations like these then you play the system that the players are used to and are comfortable with. The last thing you do is start to experiment and tinker. Simple as that.
We need points, Nudger. That’s the bottom line and I’ll take them however they come about whether it’s from a sublime free flowing move that results in Hammill bending one into the far corner or a deflection off Thiam’s shoulder in the 90th minute, they’re all the same at this stage. We played terribly bad against Burton in the first half in a 4-4-2 but we’ve also been atrocious in every other system at some point this season so I’m open to trying anything to retain our Championship status.
10 minutes of doing that. I thought when he came on and started liek that that he could, finally, turn a game for us but no.
Nobody has stood out in that position and made it their own which is a sorry indictment of our current predicament with only 8 games left. This is probably the weakest and most technically / tactically inept midfield since Dawson, Etuhu et al.
Not from me. As you’ll see earlier in the thread, as much as I don’t like them together, I’d play Gardner and Williams
