A win and 2 draws in his first 7 games. Not brilliant but is it as bad as some make out.Apart from a woeful performance on Saturday we have by and by been competitive in most games.Don't forget he took over a team lacking confidence and who had forgot to win.He hasn't got an easy task but I'm sure he and his staff are working there nuts off with the players at his disposal.I'm sure Coleman at Sunderland wished he had the magic wand to turn things around and he's been there over 6 months.

Watching Barnsley under JM is what I’d expect a fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Andre Ward to be like.

I wouldn't say we have been more competitive, we are about the same. All season long we haven't been taking hammerings. We continue to lose football matches down to a lack of quality in the side. We struggle to win games as scoring mote than 1 goal is often beyond our reach.

The level of effort has been good all season.
We are where we are because we are not scoring after dominating long periods of play - all what that does is encourage our opponents.
Our opponents suddenly realise after we have dominated play but that we can’t score so it pushes them forward.
I saw this against Forest and Ipswich at the beginning of the season and I saw it against Norwich and Millwall in the last week or so.
But we have the strikers to solve this problem now.
All we need to do is play the right formation - 442 !!!

While I'm not as sure that 442 would solve all our problems, I fully agree it's time to try it

I would say some of our worst performances of this season have come with playing 4-4-2, there's no use in having 2 strikers on the pitch if the midfield is always getting battered.

    I would try:

    Davies
    Cavare Pinnock Lindsay Yiadom
    Gardner Williams
    Thiam Potts Hammill
    McBurnie

Subs: Townsend, McCarthy, Jackson, Moncur, Isgrove, Moore, Knasmullner/Mallan

Moore as a plan B, with Isgrove and Moncur or Knasmullner/Mallan as suber-subs

Whilst I agree with most of what you say, would you put your own money on 4 4 2 getting us the right results?

I'd just keep it simple. It's that time of the season. Lace balls up to Moore and McBurnie to feed on the knock downs. Play like a Warnock team.

Not pretty but would be effectve imo.

Ward absolutely batter him because he’s 2 stone heavier & 10 years younger?

I think what’s been more demoralising is that we’ve played 3 of our relegation rivals & a Norwich team that had just been beaten by Hull & only got 5 points from 12 from them games despite having McBurnie scoring for fun. Feels like we’ve completely wasted having an in form striker & a squad with much more depth.

Whilst disappointing, defeats away at Cardiff & Middlesbrough & at home to an inform Millwall wouldn’t have been that disappointing if we’d took 9 points from the other 4 games.

Also the manner of defeat against Middlesbrough & Burton was poor, going behind in the first minute twice in six games is piss poor, have to be switched on early with fresh legs surely.

Going behind to a first minute wonder strike wasn't on the agenda against Burton in his first game.At least he had the balls to take off 2 fans favourites in Hammill and Isgrove, change the formation around and in the end was very unlucky not to get at least a point which we deserved.Lets hope the International break is in our favour.

Pretty much, but only after Floyd had said all the right things in the lead up, and tried to sneak a lead while fresh, then spent the rest of the fight hiding for as long as possible, before inevitably losing because he’s not good enough to play with the big boys.

In my opinion we deserved chuff all from the Burton game. It was dire. I also don't think it was a wonderful strike, it was a gifted goal as we stood off them and allowed them to stroll through us. Decent shot but the chance was put on a plate

Jose mistake in Burton game was to ask Isgrove and Hammill to play infield instead as out and out wingers. I presume he did this to strengthen midfield . However all it did was to confuse the hell out of rest of team and contributed to the worst first first half display all season. What he should have done was to set the team up to play same way as Paul Harsley did at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Doing this would have at least secured us a point against Burton. Because his **** tactics didn't work he took Issy and Hammill off and then decided to make scapegoats of Issy and Hammill, which he is still doing in the case of Hammill.

Come on Jose swallow your pride play 442 with Issy and Hammil as proper wingers setting up Mcburnie and Bradshaw/Moore, problem solved! Survival guaranteed

Owt near the top corner is a goal with Townsend in goal. Teams must rub their hands together when they see he's on the team sheet.

And we've used pretty much every player at our disposal with no major improvement.

Collectively not good enough up to now.

7 wins, with 5 of those against the 3 teams below us would suggest you’re correct.
