Paul Heckingbottom claimed that he’d had to be “reminded where the players have come from” by the staff and thus calmed down. It seems to me that Morais isn’t letting them hide behind this ***** anymore and isn’t accepting it as an excuse. Maybe these players have had it too easy too long in that we’ve all made excuses because they have come form non-league/L2 or lower (Scotland) and its made persistent failure on their part the norm and acceptable. Quite a few will have come here based on what happened with the previous batch - they got their moves by delivering on the pitch not mouthing off of it or wherever. So to any player looking in inbetween games on FIFA or rounds of golf, stop making your mouths off the pitch and make it on it. You never know, it might just work.
Sign players who aren’t good enough but might possibly be good enough one day in the future. Don’t be surprised when they turn out to be not good enough.
You're right, Hecky protected them far too much and it's probably come as a shock that the new management team are expecting a certain level of performance from them. I'm not an apologist for the new manager, who knows what he's like away from the press conferences, it's just common sense.
Seems like he might have ruffled a few feathers - aww, melted the odd snowflake. Good! Hope we can stay up and Morais can chuck out those treading water and get his men in key positions.
