As much as I would love Jose to do well with us for years to come, if for whatever reason he leaves at the end of the season we could do a lot worse than Mick

More chance of Hecky coming back.

Bring it on, to be me this one is obvious. We are heading for an obvious parting of the ways when Jose fails to keep us up, never a better time for Mick to come home and slowly rebuild his home town club as his last management job. He would have nothing to lose providing we can offer him a good enough package.

Unfortunately I think you are right though the chances of Hecky returning in the summer are as close to 0 as makes any difference even when he leaves Leeds in May

Looking at our head coach’s employment history, he’s not likely to be here whatever league we are in .

It will only take one defeat before somebody is telling us he talks out of arse in his interviews.

I'd rather a parting of ways with fans that talk like this when we're not even in the relegation zone. Sithi.

Don't think Mick would come here as "head coach".... he has been in much more elevated roles than that in his lifetime.
Imagine the scenario, "spreadsheet" and "plan" say buy Jimmy No-goals, get him in and then tell Mick he's got to polish him into a saleable diamond.
Mick would take one look into the camera down his right-angled nose and say "you can fu.ck that for a game of soldiers."
As desirable as it may be I couldn't see it happening.

As much as I'd like big Mick to come and manage, it's not a given that Jose will get the sack. Why should he? Hecky didn't get the sack and he only managed 6 wins in a calendar year. For most of that time a lot of our fans still had their tongues up his crack.

Ipswich haven't spent a lot on transfers in recent years, but they pay more in wages than we do, and that'll be one of the reasons big Mick won't come here.

Unless we up our game in terms of recruitment and how much were prepared to pay any manager will be up against it at this level.

Keith Hill was getting booed after 30 minutes of his first home game!

pre-emptive booing by either the Mystic Megs in the crowd, or the fashion police

Neither Gaultier nor our consortium of owners will have ever heard of Mick, or have any understanding of why he’s so important to the fans.

I get the impression that we only interviewed candidates that actively applied for the job, or were put forward by agents. There is no way Mick would do that, so he was never in the frame.

Also, he’s on a million quid a year at Ipswich, so less than no chance of him coming to us unless he accepts a 75% pay cut,
