What’s the criteria for counting then?

That’s a significant amount of games for a striker not to score.

Yes, but I’ve seen ‘worse’ misses this season. A couple as recently as Good Friday

We have had quite a few over the years as bad as that who like Rigters made less than 5 starts who failed to score David Speedie would be one i I suspect Thiam is pretty high ( statistically) on our list of worst ever strikers. With 16 starts and 16 sub appearances and no goal from open play.

I do believe Ian Walsh went an entire season as "striker" without scoring. Clarkie came back and with a LOT of help from David Hirst, started with two goals in the first home game (I think !!!, slept since then)

I was thinking of Ian Walsh too. No goals one season and 15 the next (I think). Can't remember the specifics of the blank season though - whether he played a lot of games or not.

If I remember rightly, he played the vast majority of games in his "blank" season. Had some terrible luck (I know, you make your own) and little support. Got worse the longer it went on. I remember the joy on his face when he did score in the first game the following season, a really lucky goal but they all count. Looked a different player after that.
