The football league need to address away ticket prices and a cap put in place like the premier league. Until they do it will continue.

Why is it embarrassing? How many other clubs would offer a reduced rate for a neutral or a more reasonable rate for pay on the day? You’re talking as though we’re ridiculously expensive compared to other clubs in our division and the division above.

You are looking at the gesture in isolation and I'm looking at it in context. What they are doing is paying to take barnsley fans to put money in an opponents coffers, but then they are financially pushing away fans from putting money in their own coffers. Thus depriving themselves of the extra vocal support they say they desperately need.

    It just doesn't make sense.

I'm totally behind the club on the away pricing policy. Makes perfect sense. We charge basically what they charge us. If the other club come to an arrangement to lower prices for our fans attending their grounds, we do the same.

On the coach thing, yep well done to the club one that one. Would be a fantastic gesture for what would be a small outlay for them if they put on free coach travel for all our remaining away games for every fan. Fill each away allocation and get some good feeling going...

Or you could argue that it’s assisting those who otherwise couldn’t or wouldn’t attend due to travel issues in an attempt to gain extra vocal support that we desperately need in what could be a vital away game.

Trouble is, we can't charge home fans a lower price than away fans... Therein lies the problem.. Unless they offered some sort of mini season ticket, say at 20 quid per match, that would be allowed..

Do you consider £36 a reasonable cost for watch a Barnsley game?

Is it any cheaper on the day to watch any other Championship or Premier League club?

It's just hit me, we are that **** at oakwell and they've given up the ghost on it. Away support more important.

They did the £5 offer a few weeks ago yet some complained about that as well. I note that ofter didn’t really increase the support at all.

Well just on a whim I looked at Huddersfield's next 3 games... £25, £30, £30 if I wanted a ticket right now in the premier league.

Since you're being a **** about it I had a look at Burnley too... £30.

So I say again: Barnsley charging £36 in the Championship is embarrassing.

Anyone else? You’re completely disregarding the reciprocal pricing and the increased revenue of the Premier League. The club offer flexi tickets, two for one tickets and the £5 Millwall offer.

As stated above, reducing ticket prices doesn’t lead to enough extra fans attending to plug the financial gap.

I’ve also seen plenty of Barnsley and Sheff United fans advertising tickets for sale for tomorrow’s game.

Look, I've said it before, but it's worth saying again. When they announced the price of the final four games (£120+?? I can't remember the actual figure) I was incredulous. It was if they didn't want the extra support from the non-season ticket holders in their final push to stave off relegation.

I know the consortium have left the CEO to run the club in a similar way to what it was run previously, but I hope there's a serious rethink this summer about attracting more support.

Aren’t there FA/EFL rules and regulations regarding ticket prices including the reduction of the same? I don’t think it’s as simple as the club themselves reducing the price. The categories are set prior to the start of the season.

Brighton are £25 matchday prices, as I said Burnley, Huddersfield... All in the division above and I can't be bothered to look at any more clubs websites.
Don't care what ridiculous rationalisation you make. The club charging £36 for a matchday ticket for our league and our standard of football is embarrassing. Don't worry about replying because there's nothing you can say to make it reasonable.

I went to a reunion in London and Leicester but didn’t go to WHL or the KP due to the cost but nether I nor my mates moaned about it on a message board, we just enjoyed our weekend. I suggest that you contact the club with any sensible suggestions.
