I’m a bit mixed on it, offensively it’s worked as McBurnie’s obviously scored plenty of goals but defensively we get worked out & it seems to be happening quicker each game. Norwich ran riot down our left 2nd half, Millwall ran riot for most of the game down that side & although it wasn’t solely down the left side Sheff Utd seemed to work our system out after half an hour yesterday & it took us 35 minutes & 2 goals conceded to change system even though we were really struggling & everyone around me was calling for a change in formation but then again I felt it worked for pretty much all the game against Bristol City so who knows. There’s too much emphasis on formations anyway, can’t be doing with all these who are so for one system or so against another. You play to your strengths. Much bigger factors are the basics like concentration & a reading of the game, dropping into each other’s positions & covering for one another. I’ve posted on here before that one of our big issues this season has been enforced changes especially in the defence. We’ve really struggled to keep a settled back four due to injuries. Most teams that do well have one.
He would no doubt slate him and make a excuse for his own poor show since Conor left. Problem for hecky is he is running out of excuses. Like already said would love to know GGs thoughts on hecky.
Exactly, but Mcburnie is a player we can't sacrifice, so playing him out of position is our only option.
That’s because recruitment was only ever about perpetuating itself not on the field (relative) success
