There were 4 defenders in front of him who fannied about before the shot . It's just naive to keep blaming the goalie.
I wasn’t asking for a “worldie”. Just asking for a goalkeeper to drop on the ball with his body and hands instead of a randomly trying to side foot it
The ball was 4 yards off the goal line. Suppose you want the back 4 to start standing on the line side by side holding hands with Davies telling him dont worry, its just a ball coming in, it wont bite you. Stunned at your stupidity.
Do you think that Davies commands his area in the fashion of a decent keeper? Do you think he comes for any particular cross with authority if there's anyone else about? Do you think he shows the right kind of judgment if he has to decide on coming out or not for a through ball?
Its the back 4's job to protect the keeper from crosses and corners and basically we can't defend them .It's just too easy to blame the keeper . Your last sentence is just as naive as your posts .
You Are trying to defend the indefensible. We have a keeper who costs more goals than he makes saves you are going to struggle with this in your side.
Not particularly he's just an average championship keeper . My point is that' he's getting dogs abuse today for conceding 2 goals that wasn't his fault . It's the usual default mode of if we've lost or drawn blame Davies . Just a bit simple and boring really. He played no better or worse today than he did against Sheff U but he's getting pelters . No one mentioned him after the Sheff U result . Its' just contradiction
Hard to say for the second. I can only presume Yiadom didnt get or hear a call, but if there was one then Yiadom was clearly at fault as he cleaned Davies out and stopped him making an easy claim or clearance. Having said that the guy made easy progress down the right and was allowed to get a deflected cross in. Someone should have done better and Moncur tracked back but then completely ignored the guy who scored and ran the wrong side of him.
I'm not sure anyone sensible's really blaming him for the first goal. The second goal (only from my seat) looked like one of those usual comedies, where perhaps a shout could have sorted it. Organisation in the area. But I agree that today wouldn't have Davies the winner in the blame game.
Simon Eastwood from Oxford United. I have it on good authority from an Oxford fan, who claims to be 'in the know' that a deal for Simon Eastwood was all but done and dusted in the transfer window in January. Eastwood was one of three Oxford players who were being allowed to leave under the former management team. I think that they must have sacked their manager around that time and the three players were 'lured' (his words) into staying at Oxford. I don't think that our board was to blame, as they had done everything they could to secure Eastwood as competition for Davies.
Although to be fair were caught on the break and various people weren't where they should have been. Had Yiadom just been marking his man instead of playing centre back Davies would have most likely cleared or claimed it. As you said fitness levels seem poor. Poorer than before Hecky left?
So you think the penalty was Davies's fault ? He gets the blame for any defeat we have . Some people can't seem to grasp that It's pretty hard to stop a shot from 6 yards. Davies out ! ******* load of ******** , I'm off to watch the golf .
