Burton - picks same team as Harsley game before Brum - 5 changes W Hull - 2 changes D Cardiff - 3 changes L Boro - 5 changes L Norwich - 5 changes D Millwall - 4 changes L Bristol - 4 changes D Sheff U - NO CHANGES W Ipswich - 1 change L Bolton - 1 change D Leeds - 3 changes L Forest - 5 changes L he has played same team once, how are we meant to build anything with changing 1/3 to 1/2 the team so regularly?
He’s trying to copy the special one. The thing is, the other José has been able to replace a £50m player with another £50m player when he does it. We drop Yiadom and replace him with Cavaré or Pinillos.
Making a couple of changes has no bearing on our ability to win a game. I don’t think making any more than that does either. If the players aren’t good enough or doesn’t matter who plays. Besides, after every game there’s a clamour for at least a couple of players to be dropped.
Ridiculous. Norman hunters team achieved 6th in division 2 in 81/82 using only 20 players, with 7 of them playing 40+ league games. It would have been all 11 playing 40+ but for the injuries to Joyce, Parker, barra and glavin. Including cup games they played 51 games that season on heavier pitches, heavier balls and much heavier tackling. But they just got on with it, none of this 'tired' malarkey. The benefit? They knew each others game inside out, they had a bond, the were a cohesive unit and they were a proper team to watch. I just don't buy into the modern day, chopping and changing ******
It's not just rotating players between the starting XI and the bench either - players will start one week then not be in the squad for the next couple of matches. Absolutely barmy.
He's taken on a role which was going to be extremely difficult from the outset, I don't have a problem with him making changes as the old system had us hovering above the relegation zone and rather than being complacent after so few wins something needed to change. He's tried to boost our league position by freshening things up but it's not worked out sadly, mostly due to the quality of the players outside the core XI. I'm guessing rather than get the desired fire in the belly back and have competition for players , it has unsettled them and that's not a suprise when confidence is likely to be rock bottom. I do agree though that it's nuts that players seem to go into the XI one game then not even make bench the week after.
If yiadom wasnt injured last night (still not sure).....it sends out all the wrong messages. Our club captain and most consistant performer....who is actually championship standard (unlike 90%of our team).....needs to play.
Wasn't last night actually six (from the L***s game)? Walton Cavare Jackson Pinillos Moncur Moore Totally agree though, bizarre selection, tactics and subs from day 1. Maybe we're all missing summat?
Davies and Yiadom had that coming together for Boltons second goal, looks like Jose found that unacceptable.
