I think everything is now in place. We have a transfer recruitment team 2 English and 1 Scottish I believe. We have a head of finance. We have a young but football experienced CEO.(he got 7 deals over the line in Jan.)And a board of wealthy owners who are here for the long haul.As for the manager that's there choice. If its Jose i'll give him my full backing and I'll judge him when hes built his own team.If its to be another manager likewise.
Some aspects of the "plan" I like. Not this one if true. Anyway aren't we loaded **** the plan let's just buy Kane, sallah, stones (to partner lindsay) De gea.
I have no doubt about being good business men but if I won the euro millions and wanted to invest some money in a football club I cant believe even the top teams man utd etc are making good money. its got to be a hobby surely/they would get a better return on there money buy opening a current account at Barclays If you wanted a return why us I might be thick but it doesn't make sence to me am I just being a bit thick
I hope I speak for others as well /////////////I would rather see us playing and winning every week in a lower league than loosing or drawing every game in the higher leagues .I don't care if we play Chelsea or accrngton as long as we give 100%
Bright extremes there... The plan is not for the fans it is for the benefit of the owners, previous and current.
I think signing young talented players who are going to improve is the way to go. If you are going to be relegated and have a proven league one goal scorer (Bradshaw scored over 40 goals in league one in 2 seasons at walsall) but you want to sell him to make a profit and then go for another gamble. I don't like that part to the plan. If anything I'd offer him a new deal.
But its just a story you/we the fans have been sold. But the reality is totally different. For ever 10 "young talented players" you are lucky if 2 make the 50 game mark... How many have been recycled back wince they came.. You have to sive through way too much dross. While the fans still are asked to support through backing and paying through the tturnstiles anything that appears in a red shirt. If I wanted to watch a under 23 team of maybes.... then I can watch the said under 23s for nowt.. You and others may be satisfied with what is being given, that's fine, I don't care. But I'm not, I'm not trying to change your or anyone else's view. Just pointing out why I have had enough, and if things stay the same...ie the plan,... I will not support it.
Difference with Graham & Blackburn is that I suspect his wages will be pretty decent Championship level. If they're willing to continue paying him that in L1 I suppose he was happy to stay. Bradshaw on the other hand, probably gets a low level Championship/high end L1 salary so with us going down he'll be looking for more. 12 goals in a struggling side means his stock has risen.
Could be right there if he thinks he can get more money and gives him a better chance of playing for Wales he will probley want out. I think he has done okay because 1st half of season upfront on his own with little or no service most games must of been frustrating
Agreed. Billionaire owners now. If they still want to try and do things on the cheap then they may as well sell up quick for me tbh after this abortion of a season. Either show some intent or sell on again. Time to get serious in the summer no matter which league we are in.
I don't rate him. I like him because he gives it everything he's got and I'll always support our players who do that, but in terms of quality... Maybe he'll look better in league 1, but just because he's done it before there's no guarantee he'll do it again. The game is littered with players who looked great in their teens or early twenties but gradually went backwards from there on in. I don't see anything from the way he's played with us that suggests he's going to be prolific. I'd prefer to judge him on what I've seen of him rather than what he did in the past. He's credited with 9 championship goals this season, but two of those he definitely didn't score. Maybe it's just that he doesn't suit the style of football we play and if he does go elsewhere he'll do well, but if we get an offer resembling anything like what we paid for him I'd definitely sell. I am surprised by the level of support he's received in this thread as he's had dogs abuse this season. Not suggesting it's the same people, but I didn't notice that many people coming to his defence when he was being criticised. As for the article, I just take everything I read in the press with a pinch of salt. There'll be thousands of press cuttings from now until the end of August detailing players moving clubs; some factual, some with a grain of truth to them, some completely fabricated. I don't believe we can use any to have a go at the club. There's a lot the club can be blamed for, but we've always been very good at keeping our intentions with regards to signing or selling players in house. The only players I will be sad to see go are McBurnie, who is only on loan and we won't get back, Yiadom who is out of contract and more or less assured of leaving, and Hammill, who is also out of contract and, unfortunately, I think we'll release him. So I'm definitely going to be disappointed. Other than that, I'd be open to offers for any of them.
Think it was 34 in 2 seasons at Walsall , prior to that he was at Shrewsbury and left when they were relegated to Div 2
I think it's more case of everyone worrying the new recruits will be from even lower down the pyramid. Or another Thiam or Knasamullner.
I would add Pinnock to that. After looking shakey at first (stepping up from non league to the championship so understandable) he looked every bit a championship player but then hasn’t had a snuff since being injured. Was even leapfrogged by Mills. Also think Matty Pearson deserves a chance. Stepped in from Accrington, and whilst looking shakey at left back against championship wingers, always gave everything and I liked the look of him. Bit of Bobby about him for me. No nonsense and will get better with experience. Of the rest - not many I would be dissapointed to leave. But if we’re in League 1 they all have a blank canvas to show what they can do. Some will benefit from the experience of this season, some will probably drift away and back down the leagues. My hope is we have the right judge of players to make the right calls. I don’t think our current manager is that person given how knee jerk his reactions are to players. Edit: Adam Jackson has been the surprise for me. Deserves his chance and would probably be captain for me of the current lot.
