Was definitely a cross. He gestures with his right arm for Mahoney to get into the box, then tries to wrap his foot around the ball. We got a bit of luck. The kind of goal we concede every year against Sheffield Wednesday. The two chances he missed he should have scored. The header would have been a really good goal, stretching, bullying the defender and guiding it in. Hard chance that he made from the cross. The second was a bit of a stinker, but it came at him knee high at a fair pace and at a tricky angle. Again, should have scored it. Let’s get behind the lad. He’s improving his all round game.
His overall play was great today, as it has been in most games, but his finishing was woeful, as it has been in most games. If he can work on his finishing we'll have some player at whatever level we're at next season.
So we moan and whinge whenever an opposition player flukes a goal against us then we moan and whinge when we get one . FFS grow up ! Be happy .
And the lad is relatively inexperienced so his going to get better . As a previous poster said is that he gets in the right positions and bullies opposing centre halves . Isn't that what we have missing .
if you want to believe he meant it that's fine by me, he scored and that goal was vital to us getting off to a good start! He had a great game and continually gets in to the right areas, I was just worried that empty goal miss would come back to bite us but it didn't in the end
I really rate him & think there’s potential for him to get a lot better. Not been going to the away games but at home he’s been impressive pretty much every game since he joined.
