I not saying anything is the clubs fault. I'm saying that rewarding regulars seems both fairer and wiser at a time people are considering of they're going to buy a season ticket. Of course people could have bought tickets early as i did. However so could one off people .Both were competing today for tickets and i personally think giving priority to regulars would be the best approach. Regarding everyone being welcome to cheers in the team I think we all agree on that
I disagree that anyone should’ve been given priority today. This is the second release after the Brentford game. If fans who had been going all year we’re going regardless of Saturday’s result then it’s their own fault that they’ve waited so long and risked missing out. I just don’t understand the animosity towards those who are paying their hard earned money to watch the Reds on Saturday.
There's no animosity whatsoever from me towards them. Of course many only became interested after Saturday. That's only natural now it's like a cup final. However I do have empathy for people who have gone all year and are gutted that they've not been able to log on today after what has been a really hard season to watch especially the more you have been and endured it
Agree. Had I missed out I would only have had my self to blame. I left it so late because I thought my mate was sorting them, but he's cricketing next week.
How is it handled badly ? They’ve been on sale a fortnight but no ****** was bothered till we won on Saturday . No queues when I bought mine two weeks ago ! #justsaying
Any excuse to have a go at the club , they’re not perfect but the lads & lasses in the shop/box office by and large do a fantastic job and I’ve got nothing but praise for them .
Crazy isn't it? There are probably about 300 reds that go to every single game, yet we get 2700 tickets and there aren't enough to go round. We didn't take that to Leeds and it's just up the road, although I appreciate price was a factor. You have to keep your eye on the ball with these games. There was always a chance that it would go to the last day and that there would be a big demand.
My beef is not particularly with the release of tickets although allowing an unlimited amount seems unfair, my beef is the fact that the technology is poor. Ticketmaster can support selling tickets for 60k stadium gigs and can sell out within minutes but today the Barnsley FC ticket service ground to a halt with what I would estimate a few hundred people trying. It would have been sensible to either sell only in the ticket office or only online but hey ho WTF do I know
If they only sold tickets online they’d attract criticism from those with no access to the online ticket office. If they only sold at Oakwell then they’d attract criticism from those who couldn’t get to Oakwell. The club honestly can’t win in this particular situation with those who miss out and I feel that the criticism is completely unwarranted.
My sentiments 100%. Like you say, there are probably in excess of 100,000 people trying to buy concert tickets but today there were probably 200 or 300 trying to buy on our site. It defies belief that the system should go into meltdown. I never use Ticketmaster for gigs if I can help it cos I've had problems before. Seems most clubs are tied to them apparently
Nothing the club could do it was always going to be this way if we needed something. They have been on sale ages so we were all waiting for the same thing. Anyone that worried could have got them before the Brentford game and just returned them if they didn't want them.
I realise this is not really what you mean, but there are (at huge cost £162 each!!!) hospitality tickets available for the match, and away supporters are allowed in. More details here https://www.dcfc.co.uk/toptix/en-GB...e (hospitality)/2018-5-6_13.00/pedigree suite If anyone is considering paying over the odds for a ticket, it may be worth considering.
Yeah, I'm not that bothered. I'd talked myself out of going until one of the lads at work said he was up for it. I don't think hospitality is what he had in mind. Cheers though
