I want to canvas opinion as to everyone's first (reasonably realistic) choice. Nowt else, no arguing about other people's choices, just a name. Graham Potter.
Sven if he's not retired and fancies flirting again with a lower league team! More realistically, Mark Warburton (if we're changing recruitment strategy which I doubt we will be. Doubt he will come otherwise...)
I don't just have one name that I would be happy with, I think there are a few good options out there that would do a good job. I will list my top few below. Mark Warburton Graham Potter (slightly unrealistic maybe) Mick McCarthy Darren Moore (Should he not get Brom job) Chris Coleman There are others out there too but these are the main ones for me
Frank lampard or similar , would love an alan Clarke style revolution part two . Contacts in the game would be a massive boost to the team the club and the town . Media coverage would be huge , extra season tickets sold and an all round feel good factor . Before anyone says it’s unrealistic there was some interest in the Oxford job . This board have the resources to tempt anyone within reason . Don’t want another merry go round failed manager . Pull the rabbit out the bag Mr Lee , unite the fanbase and show some intent UTR
Gary Bowyer... or Macca.. or Warburton... And if we take a punt ....Jack Ross Ed... add Graham Alexander
Hurst and Rosler are good calls. I'd also be happy with Graham Alexander. Always respected him as a player, nothing flash, just dependable and reliable and has played a lot at League One level too. Thought he was harshly treated by Scunthorpe.
Warburton, Alexander, Bowyer, Hurst, Ainsworth, perhaps Derek Adams at Plymouth. Truth be told, I've got an open mind as to who the new gaffer should be. The only person I'd prefer us not to appoint would be Steve Cotterill.
Warburton is a decent shout, thought he was unlucky at Forest they looked a good footballing side and they sacked him too soon.
so basically fans are split on a number of candidates but by and large the majority we would be happy with a reasonably successful british manager with good experience of the football league preferably championship and league one
