to do what? If the guy doesn't want to come to us for whatever reason I doubt he'll be influenced by fans clamouring for him. He knows he's wanted by lots of people here but would he really want to spoil his memories here?

No thanks. He’s done an average job at Ipswich for a good few years, and they played awful football. The fans were happy to get rid of him.
Mid table finishes with no money and a below average squad with the likes of Cole Skuse starting regularly. He did a good job there.

He’s been a bloody good manager for a long time. And his players love him*.The fact he’s kept Ipswich mid table these last few years is nothing short of miraculous with the players he’s been allowed to recruit and their budget. promotions with Sunderland and Wolves, under huge pressure, were superb. Including playing some very exciting football. He is the type of manager who can grab a squad by the scruff and get every ounce of potential out of it. Also - he can spot a player. Signed Kightley with wolves for £25k. Sold Keiffer Moore to us for £750k. *lazy players or Roy Keane aside.
I suppose it's now a case of how exactly does he spoil those memories? Reckon he'll take us down to League Two? He could take us up and be even more of a legend, Hecky was certainly treated as such. If he wants a crack at taking another team to the Premiership then fair enough, but hopefully he'll come here aiming to win all 46 games next year.

I can’t understand the people who say no. He would be an unbelievable appointment for us and would be a massive statement of intent from the owners. I don’t think it will happen but would be buzzing if we got him.
