Maybe it’s that the money offered will be less than he can get in Perth? Perth might be offering really good money.

If Ross McCormack can score 14 in 16 over there, Hammill will tear that League apart.

I’d like him to stay with us, on terms that are ok with club and player - and I don’t see why that can’t be agreed.

Having said that - Perth is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Maybe the whole package is just too tempting?

Perth Glory's star player Diego Castro was on about 6000 pound a week last season, however there is a strict salary cap like in the Super League where teams pay dodgy payments to family members working in club shop and stuff like that, Andy Keogh is on about 2500 pound a week on the books (some believe he is getting paid extra on the dodge)

The Auz league has very similar rules to the MLS
Where you’re allowed 2 players who are outside of the normal salary cap who are termed as Marquee players with unlimited salary
also allowed a junior marquee player , youngster coming through who is deemed valuable asset
    Same thing
You’re also allowed a few guest players who again unlimited salary as long as he is deemed a marketable asset
Obviously this is for so called big name players to be enticed to these places to help the sport teams grow obtain bigger popularity

I think the US rule where they are termed designated was invented for David beckham he became the first designated player in the USA league

The Cap in US is 4 million dollar per team
L.A Galaxy total wages salary for last season was 22 million dollars
Which wouldn’t pay there new player Ibrahimovics yearly wage at United .

Not sure about that was always my understanding it's a option for the club to extend it. It's nearly always put in this way with contracts. The issue would be if they did just extend it I assume it would be on the same terms as before.

I don't know the finer details of the cap but I doubt Adam would qualify for extra special treatment like a Gallas or Del Piero?

I saw Adam, wife and kids at the Post Office at Haigh on Sunday. When asked if he was leaving he said it looks like it. He said he had received a number of offers which he was considering. He said he had rejected one from Leeds. He said he would not dare play for them. His wife was speaking to my wife. She was nearly in tears about leaving. Lovely bloke and lovely family. We have all delighted in his time with us. Time for him to make the best decision for his family. Thanks for everything Adam and good luck for your next chapter.

    As you say very unlikely
I believe teams are allowed one or maybe two imports a year
No idea if they have all have to be deemed special status.
We can only speculate if it is true he is leaving.
Obvious reasons that come to mind
They havnt approached him during the Season about extending his contract , so disappointed making other plans.
Asked him to take a pay cut if he wants to stay.

Told not part of there future plans and can leave or be put on transfer list
Doesn’t want to drop back down to league 1 at this stage of his career so would rather go abroad.

If that’s true and Barnsley have told him they don’t want him and he’s rejected a offer from Leeds
Because what, some half wits and that’s being kind keyboard warriors will brand him a traitor or something silmilar
And he’s putting that before his family’s future
Absolutely bizarre would have to question his acumen.
Most if not all players will play for multiple clubs throughout there career.
And when they are surplus to requirements or deemed to be no longer good enough will be tossed out the door and forgotten about even if they love the club with all there heart
As it sounds like he has found out.
If he’s leaving good luck to him , whoever it may be with.

The wage drop will almost be certainly true - GG did say every player has a relegation clause. Which based on BFC history is absolutely the right thing to do.

It depends if each individual player’s clause also includes a relegation trigger for transfer. As in they are allowed to move on if a certain fee is met following relegation.

Let’s say Hammill was on £5k. Following relegation, the offer was to be £3k. If he can get £6k in Perth for 2 years, then fair play.
