Name your choice for manager

Sean o Driscoll worked wonders at Donny under less of a budget than what we will be operating under Ok he has,nt been in a Managerial job for a while but he could be the man medium term to get us back into winning ways

 

Jack Ross for me too. Can't believe he missed out to Joker Jose!

 

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Big enough name for the owners' profile, decent knowledge of the lower leagues on smaller budgets than he'd have with us.

 

My absolute top suggestion would be PAUL HURST. He will want to stay with Shrewsbury if they go up via the play-offs, but you have to admire his record, first at Grimsby Town and then at Shrewsbury. Young manager, so fits 'the plan' and his stats would also fit, but, above all, he talks sound sense, is able to motivate and improve young players and has got ordinary teams into promotion situations. Knows league one well. Definitely number one target for me, but not to be approached until, and if, Shrewsbury don't make it through the play-offs. He would be worth a good salary too.

My second choice, after Paul Hurst, would be Darren Moore, if WBA appoint someone else and he doesn't get the permanent post.

Both have managed over here with Swansea when they were good. I had thought about Martinez but he currently Belgium's coach

 

I don’t believe Jack Ross would want to come. It’s a bigger job than ppl think here to sort this team out. New manager be under huge pressure. Team rebuild, and zero confidence who have no winning mentality. Also gotta find a centre midfield that works and a oli replacement

 

Alexander or Darren Moore

 

Would be crucified on Twitter. I'd rule him out. Would have been a good call in January when we looked dead & buried though.

 

Big Mick McCarthy if he's not interested then Big Darren Moore, it would be a step back if we appointed Grayson or Cotterill.
I see Bobby Hassell as jumped to 4/1 on oddschecker.

 

Why the big call for McCarthy? The football he serves up is dross and he's done nowt for years. Add on to that he's a Leeds fans too.

 

He’s been overachieving every season he’s been at Ipswich, they’ve just kept slashing the wage budget & he’s had them comfortably mid-table.

Mick will never play beautiful football but it’s become a bit of a myth about his style of play, played plenty of decent stuff with Sunderland & Wolves & did the same with Ipswich for the first couple of year until they started cutting costs.

You can’t expect to keep cutting budgets & expect pretty football, it’s just not realistic. If he took over a side like ours with one of the biggest budgets in the league & lots of young players there’s no chance he’d have us playing route one football

 

I know a couple of Sunderland fans who said if he was reappointed they'd not be happy because of the style he played under them. I also work with a wolves fan who said the football under him was atrocious. Both would have had one of the biggest budgets in the league at the time.

 

If Moore doesn't get the job at West Brom and he was interested it's an absolute no brainer if you ask me. Warburton or Hurst would be good appointments too.

Not sure about people suggesting Alexander, the Scunny supporters couldn't wait to get rid of him and his boring style.

It's a big no to Cotterill, Grayson or any other football dinosaur. We need someone progressive with a modern approach.

 

Because it would lift the club the town and most of the supporters (yourself not included ) the place would be buzzing.

 

Yeh but why? His footballs unbearable, achieved very little in probably nearly 10 years and doesn't fit into the vision of the club (I.e young players). Add to that he's a Leeds fan aswell. I'd probably place him in the Appleton, Cotterill, Phil Brown category labelled DO NOT TOUCH.
