Players contracts do not run out till June, so a new man in by then would be fine. This gives the board plenty of time to consider the next man in.
For me, the early closing date of this Summer's permanent transfer window (5pm Thursday 9th August) means that the new man will already have limited time to bring in and move out players. The earlier we get the new man in, the earlier he can start assessing, then shaping his squad as he sees fit, getting his way of playing across to the lads.
agreed , but surely the players will have gone away on their holibobs, so until they come back he cannot asses them. Granted he could take advice from the remaining back room boys and even the form sheets. But for me if he is in place by early to mid June then that will fine. Also once all the football has finished ( prem, play offs) we should then have a better idea of whats available too. But if you keep on arguing with me I will come over theer and tek mi belt off.... and we all know what happens when I do that innit.
No, I accept you're right and I'm wrong. That should make you Happy. Or Grumpy. Or Dopey. Definitely one of Snow White's dwarfs!
Need someone by end of May, a week to settle in and talk about targets with whoever before players return, asses then and start recruiting. Let’s be honest it doesn’t take Pep to work out we need a goalie, defensive central midfield and a striker as top priority.
on a separate note , hows thing on the Herring estates, How you both. Are Laura and Chris well ..... and of course you grand daughter.
have to confess I was hoping we would get someone in by the end of May, but by the second week in June should be fine.
Not too bad. Laura's health is steadily deteriorating (she can only get around now with the aid of a walking stick), but she's continuing her university studies. The rest of the family is doing okay, thank you.
that's just what our lass sez when I threaten with that retribution..... why does no one take me seriously ?
She's now an adult, meaning that like all the others in her (or similar) position she has an extremely long wait for another transplant. Most die waiting for one, with an increasing drop in the quality of their life. All things being equal, she's hoping to complete her studies in September (health permitting).
It seems like 2 of the managers at the top of the shortlist haven't even finished their seasons yet, so the new manager will probably take a week or two.
