I too rate Potts and don’t understand all this flack he gets. For me he has to be one of the first names on the team sheet. With a natural box to box midfielder at the side of him i.e a Scowen type he would really shine in League One.

Yids has been and was our best player by a country mile . He carried on after wanting to leave and always put a shift in . No problem with him trying to secure his future and the cash that comes with it . Goes with my best wishes !

Totally agree Indie. Don’t get me wrong he had a few bad games over the course of the season but the good far outweigh the bad and the abuse he got was bang out. Some fans would have still slated him even if he played like Ronaldo because it was the in thing to do but yeah, I think he’ll be massive for us in L1.

Read through the comments. I do wish him well and have no problem with him wanting to leave, just the way he went about it (SSN) and as was pointed out by someone else, he hasn’t once put out a statement with regards to season/relegation which I’d expect from the team captain.

Hasn’t cared about the club since August and lets be honest, he had no choice but to carry on since he failed his medical at Huddersfield.

It was either carry on or rot in the reserves and if he chose the latter, it would have blown a big money move for him in the long run.

A bit like Gareth Bale ? I take it you do not attend matches at Oakwell , otherwise you would know he never played wing back for us , although he did play on the left side of a front three, to which he netted 9 goals in quick time, we obviously used him wisely

Totally agree with this. Shows a real lack of leadership in our team. Just been counting down the days until he could start looking at deals with other clubs. Wouldn’t surprise me if already signed a pre contract agreement.

Every club is a stepping stone - until you reach a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid.

He could quite easily have given nothing last season knowing he had most of the power ... liked him as a player and no one could question his commitment on the pitch

I’ve said this in a previous reply that giving nothing would have definitely scuppered a move for him so had no choice but to knuckle down.

    Same old same old.
A player is fantastic until he looks to sign for another club and then he’s suddenly shi.te and always has been.

    Yiadom is a class player.
As with any of our players - I’d hate to see him go to Leeds or a Sheffield club.

    If he's fi
If he's the first name on the team sheet then we have failed in our recruitment again. Wouldnt get into the wigan or blackburn team and shouldnt have got in ours last season..... But we had no choice.

Admittedly Andy Yiadom was silly with his unguarded comments in the, now infamous, interview.
He has honoured his contract with us, as he did at his previous club. His move earlier broke down because he had a fracture in his spine. Since his return he has always given 100% as far as I can see. Far more than others in the team. He always acknowledges the fans before and after a game, more than some others do.
Who was the last player on the pitch with the fans after the Brentford game?

Potts is a decent player who had an ok first season at a much higher level than he’s used to. He will be very influential for us next year imo.

How many times did Yids dislocate his shoulder in that game against Sheff Wed and still try to play on? Gave his all whenever he played, moved from div 4 to one of the best leagues in the world and was regularly a top-performer. Don't get why the only one of our 2016/2017 starters to see out the full term of his contract is the one to attract this opprobrium.
