Seen a rumour doing rounds on Twitter that us, Wigan and Bolton are looking at Accrington Stanley keeper Aaron Chapman. Probably not true as we don’t even have a manager but thought to share anyway. He’s 27 I believe, 6’8 and has kept 18 clean sheets this season during the title winning campaign in league 2
Can't say I had heard of him until this rumour came about. - this makes for impressive viewing though, some really good saves in this.
I’d be very very surprised if we are looking at any players right now. I assume all that will be on hold until after the new manager is appointed.
If we're sticking with policy of last few years having no manager won't stop us We have a head coach anyway not a manager Looks a good prospect. Sadly though Bolton and Wigan are in league above us if they're the competition we could struggle.
Yeah if they are both in we could struggle, but I would assume that Wigan's first choice would be the lad they had on loan this season from Brighton who did well there so if they get him then they won't need Chapman.
Head coach simply coaches. Manager has further responsibilities e.g player recruitment or at least that would be my take. A division between who determines who we recruit and the person or people choosing the team each week and coaching them. This may explain why we have so many attacking midfielders as noone picking the team each week would want his many.
I think we should start another thread about this... "head coach v manager". Haven't seen one for days.
