And where do you think mcburnie has scored most of his goals from? The halfway line? If you watched winnall you will know that he was sometimes stuck out wide as well. Standing out in a struggling championship club isn't the same as "oozing premiership quality". John Terry is the example you're looking for in that department. They're both good finishers from around the box, but Mcburnie has still to score a goal like winnall at Cardiff last season.
I watched all Winalls goals on you tube when I was posting on this thread. Great finisher, but some of his goals are much more than that. Problem with winnall is that because he left the way he did, some people choose to forget how good he was. The whole "too good for this level" is something that applies to a hell of a lot of players that actually play at this level. The championship is littered with players and clubs that have been great in the championship and fallen well short in the prem.
I certainly should have included Mr Currie & to be honest I liked all three but I think Andy Liddell had better days away from us
Winnall had the chance to develop and grow in a resurgent Barnsley side. McBurnie didn’t. Both did amazing for us.
The only point I was making was Winnall was better for us than McBurnie in response to the OP. Yes Winnall played in a better side no argument, and McBurnie has the potential to be a better. I wasn't saying who is better between them as I think that's not possible to answer due to McBurnie having only playing a handful of games by comparison.
moore's goal against Brentford was a lot better than any goal he ever did. Difference is when he was out on the wing in league 1 he was absolutely useless and scored zero. McBurnie had & has all the makings of a premier league striker where as he never had and never will.
ahah oooh no. I remember very clearly in a pub after the Norwich home game about a month before he left we were saying we don't really like him but he kept scoring and how everyone around us was on his back for the whole match. He had his critics long before his disgraceful actions.
I don't doubt he has, but at the moment he's not, and he hasn't scored as many goals as winnall or the variety. When he plays regularly for a premiership club you can talk all you want about premier league class, but at the moment he's just had a decent spell in the championship and that's where he is, with a championship club for the time being.
So someone said something in a pub and that makes you right does it? Winnall was crap, despite all his goals, because someone said so in a pub and someone equally as drunk agreed. Haha.
he hasn't had the chance! McBurnie has scored a fantastic volley against Norwich, great header against Brentford, rebounded efforts at home to bolton & sheff utd and took on practically the whole wednesday team which you would have never seen him do. A vast variety of goals for such a short stint. A phenomenal spell in the championship when you consider he was completely out of position with no service.
When people were jeering him when he was getting subbed off or the numerous doubtful threads on here you start to get a picture.
He's been at Swansea hasn't he? If he was regular premier league quality, don't you think they would have used him rather than getting relegated if he was good enough. He was surplus to requirements! I've no doubt he's a great finisher, I'm not saying he's not. I'm saying winnall is as well and has done it every level he's played.
Genuine question , does someone write your scripts or do you just make it up as you go along ? I know you are on the wind up all the time but even wind ups need decent material & yours are very poor , do not give up your day job
