A) What he does with his body is no concern of yours B) Read the below thread if you don't think working class people that become successful have a target on their heads I just finished Owen Jones' fantastic 'Chavs, the demonisation of the working classes' and was surprised how much I've noticed this sort of thing since then. Real shame.
What? Nicole jumped from a moving posh taxi? She’s a role model for young girls. Both of my daughters might see that and decide to jump out of a taxi. Why aren’t they talking about that on LBC today, it’s sexist that’s why! Women get away with murder these days, I hate being white and male, it’s so unfair. And they have Fanny’s to play with.
He has no responsibility to anyone other than himself. If idiotic parents and starstruck football fans choose to make him a role-model, that's their concern. He can, and is doing, as he likes. He is paid to be a footballer. What he does outside of work is his business.
My favourite was either him still eating breakfast despite not winning Young Player of the Year or him insulting his fans by buying his mam a sink.
I wonder why the right wing press attack a young successful black man. Could it be.... On the wider point there is no greater force for undermining our national team than the gutter press.
Makes you wonder, is the 'odious lovely person' the one that writes his opinions in newspapers and books that you may or may not disagree with or the bitter man on an anonymous internet message board calling him an oxygen thief.
Hardly anonymous my names right there . Can’t stand Owen Jones , not bitter or angry just think he’s a first class ***** .
Really ? There’s a lot of folk thinking he’s an overpaid overhyped young footballer with little intelligence or sense of privilege . So now he reinforces those opinions by going all gangster , and by the way I’m not buying his explanation either !
I really couldn't care less about tattoo's and what they mean and who has them and where etc. I do care though how Sterling and the rest of the England squad plays in the WCup, thats much more important.
Surprisingly I’d say Raheem has far more intelligence than you, that doesn’t say much for him though I have to admit.
I doubt very much he’s more intelligent than me but then I’m not a role model . Apart from being said role model for my children ( now grown up ) who think I’m the dogs ******** !
The kid didn't ask to be a role model, he worked hard to become a professional footballer not the next chuffin' Gandhi. However, given his background and losing his dad at such a young age, I think he's done very well and shows how people can triumph over adversity. Kids are hardly going to go out and source an AK47 because they've seen a tattoo on some footballer's leg, especially since his explanation for the likes of your benefit. It's his body and if he wants a tattoo then it's his choice.
