No we can discuss it here. It’s open to anyone else of course. What is the difference between Head Coach and Team Manager ??? I’ll start ........... NOTHING. It’s just a title - the job is exactly the same. So why do so many on here get so hung up and confused about it???
There are key differences between the roles. A manager has complete control over his staff, transfers and player contracts unless, of course, they’re working under a meddling owner. While a head coach just trains and picks the team, with the owner or director of football taking the pressure off them by dealing with the rest. Is the head coach title really worth the cost of the advertisement in place of the standard manager’s job? Not for me. The attributes required to be a successful manager are reckoned to be the same as a head coach. They need to have effective and adaptable training methods, be tactically astute, boast good judgment in team selections and formations. Behind the scenes, however, it’s a very different story.
Lol !!! No team manager has COMPLETE control of transfers and players contracts. If they had - Morais I’m sure would have had Messi playing for Barnsley. Ridiculous. A head coach / team manager identifies playing positions that need strengthening - he suggests players that could fit that role - and then it’s up to the owners with the help of the CEO to find a way of getting that player - and importantly paying for that player.
It meant a manager who wants a player whose asking price is within the budget allocated by the board can go out and get him if he deems fit.
