At least he's got some managerial experience. Derby have just appointed Lampard, Fleetwood appointed Joey Barton, the last manager/head coach we had at League One level got us promoted and had never been in charge of a club before either. Is it worse to have experience in Scotland than to have no experience at all?
It's obvious these appointments have been made based on the pulling power of the name as much as anything else but sometimes managers do well in their first jobs - Allan Clarke, Danny Wilson and Paul Heckingbottom to name three. Even without the benefit of hindsight I would say they were better appointments than the manager of Queen of the South or Brechin City.
As a St.Mirren fan, I saw Livi play 4 times last season in the flesh and the play off games. His players seem to run through brick walls for him. Most committed team in the league by far. In my opinion though, the football was shocking. Long balls to front two and support from midfield for the second ball. To my untrained eye, that was their Plan A, Plan B etc. He also had the 2 best centre half in the league in Lythgoe and Halkett, I think they are called. Will definitely make you more solid in my opinion, hard to beat but entertainment might be at a premium.
Livi played to their limited strengths. And did it well. They were worthy of their promotion. Hey Buddy. How do you think your lot will get on in the Premier? Your play maker back to Celtic. I think you will miss him.
You get it pressed lad. I certainly won't be complaining if you don't read or respond to any of my posts. I've just as much right to air my views as you though - more so in fact as I'll actually be at the games x
