If experience trumps youth every time then why isn’t an incredibly experienced dinosaur like Alan Curbishley the England manager?

Bottom line here is that all these arguments about managers, the time taken to appoint etc , etc is based on complete and total speculation. No one has the first clue what's going on or why but there's teddys being thrown out of cots left, right and centre.
There has been absolutely no leak of information from the club which, in the case of appointing a manager, is absolutely correct. How about we wait to see who they appoint and then pass judgement?

You have explained nothing & now you are throwing insults my way , which shows a complete lack of education on your part , speaking of which would it not be better if you tried harder at school then your debating skill might improve little boy , grow up

Not really. Your argument is that it’s essential that we appoint someone with experience. If experience is the prerequisite and is the be all and end all then presumably you’d look to appoint someone with the utmost experience? Experience doesn’t necessarily equate to success in this field as an experienced manager has invariably failed on more than one occasion, particularly if they’re linked with us.

Each club has its own distinct way of operating and not every manager or head coach will fit in with that model. Lee Johnson didn’t have mountains of experience and he was successful here, as was Heckingbottom after him.

That's true.. and I am waiting, but not with baited breath.. And as for judgement, you can only judge when they have gone.. not arrived.. so Jose can be judged, Hecky and LJ also.. My main beef is with having no faith in whoever appointed jose.. Whoever thought that was a good idea... doing any better next time..

We shall see... ill be watching, quietly.. hehe, time for mi homework now

Why not just wait & see? I wasn’t in favour of Morais because it’s too much to take on for someone with no football league experience mid-way through a season but if a new guy comes in now then he’s got 6 weeks of training to get to know his squad, implement his ideas & learn about the opposition in the league.

Everyone we sign will be seen as a yes man because they’re a ‘head coach’ & not a manager, that’s why it’s probably easier to go abroad as it’s a much more popular system around Europe.

You’ve completely lost me with the Wagner comments, yes Huddersfield backed him more than any other manager they’ve had but it was still only a mid-table championship budget at best & he took them up, that’s an incredible achievement as was keeping them up.

He did what he needed to do to keep them up, I’m sure there’s a long term plan to sign better players & play better football but you can’t knock Wagner at all for what he’s done up to now.

There’s too much football snobbery about when it comes to long ball, how many teams in England outside of the top 6 in the prem actually play easy to watch passing football?

Wolves, Fulham & maybe Brentford in the championship, then possibly Leicester are decent to watch in the prem & that’s about it that I can think of.

Folk whinge about McCarthy & Grayson’s style of football & then they’ll suggest the Cowley brothers or Paul Hurst as manager, it’s barmy.

We’ve got Kieffer Moore up front, pacey direct wingers in Isgrove & Hedges & big strong lads like Potts & McGeehan in the middle. We’re suited to a manager who prefers direct football, if we get a manager in who tries to get them to pass teams to death we’ll do nothing next season.

Won't argue with you about Morais. They must have thought they knew something that wasn't obvious in the bare bones of his stats.

Know absolutely nothing about him but says on wiki that he was sacked when they were chasing promotion and he went 1 win in 4 games, seems a bit harsh huh?

Just read through this thread and am starting to wonder about my sanity. Folk bairning like kids, throwing insults around like confetti and castigating everyone at the club on the basis of no knowledge whatsoever.

I've decided, I won't be reading any more threads speculating about the manager until one is appointed.

    That feels better!
