    I remember being really pleased with the spackman / Anderson appointments , and really disappointed with the Wilson/ Ritchie ones . The first 2 were fairly big appointments for reds standards , while the latter were typical penny pinching moves by the club . How wrong I was.....

    The majority couldn't wait for the new ownership. I knew things wouldn't quite be the same again and feared for the future, as I'm not a risk taker whatsoever. I worried about the long term implications of not having local people with an affinity for the club in charge.

    The decisions being made now are hardly surprising. The board is made up of multi-nationals, who have a wider outlook than we've seen in the past. A lot of fans have chosen to get carried away from day one and ignore the blatantly obvious, which is:
    • they liked our blueprint and were attracted to the club because of it, so the spreadsheet transfer policy was bound to continue
    • they were going to continue doing things frugally and operating within our means. People who put together a consortium do so either because they don't have enough money for a project as individuals or they don't want to risk much of their money. The accounts of OGC Nice demonstrate that they believe in balancing the books
    • they wouldn't be 'old school' and UK-centric in their appointments
    I think it's fair to say that the majority of supporters now believe the blueprint to be seriously flawed. It seems to me that the club have gone to great lengths to recruit someone to work within that framework again. The lengthy process suggests that search hasn't been easy. It's a big concern to me that they still appear to have so much faith in it. Surely it's now clear that we dropped the jackpot with the first crop and have made a mistake in thinking we can keep doing so.

    I really hoped things would change under new ownership but as you say it's been clear from day one that they won't. Mr Cryne either by chance or design has found buyers who seem to intend on running the club in the same way as he did. The difference as you point out is simply a wider and more multi national recruitment.
    Time will tell is if this is for the best or not. For now I just hope the coming season is a good one.

    Not at all. If the club makes poor decision after poor decision I.e selling all the players, Morais etc. Then my reactions will be negative after negative.

    I don’t care for your age so you don’t need to throw that into this debate, we’re all supporters with different opinions and we can express them freely and to be fair pal, I talk a lot more sense than the utter BALLACKS you come out with.

    The “people like myself” are concerned because this board is making horrendous decisions in appointing chancers who are in the Z List of managers hoping it will work.
