Apart from he starts work on the 1st of July. That gives him about 4 to 5 weeks to assess his squad move on the ones he doesn't want then bring in ones he does. Absolutely ridiculous, and probably impossible. He already has a very difficult task and to lose over 3 weeks when he could be watching last seasons recorded games and talking to our existing coaches about the squad and his ideas would be beneficial. I admit he may need a week or so in Germany but to lose all of June seems a crazy decision.
Maybe he has I don't know, but it certainly makes an already short window even more tight for him to review and refresh the squad.
Apparently a very confident coach who plays fluent pressing football.Gives youth a chance and believes in His players
I think there'll be a plan in place whereby he could study said recordings from last season, but in his own time. Conversations may already be planned with the current staff in a similar manner. To me, it looks to be a similar situation to Steven Gerrard when he was announced as the new Rangers manager at the beginning of May, but was unable to officially take up the reigns until 1st June.
Hopefully he “officially” starts 1st of July. But will be busy getting up to speed with our current squad. Will take the rest of June just to learn the names of every “number 10” on the books....
Surely in the meantime he’ll be watching back dvds of our games from last season and assessing what’s needed etc before July 1st.
Yeah it'll just be gardening leave and i'm guessing any new employment prior to that would breach the terms of whatever payoff he's currently receiving.
When I read that I took it that was last year. But you might be right he did sign a 2 year deal so he's seen it out and obviously been paid fully.
It makes sense that it was his personal circumstances rather than choice. Like other posters have said hopefully he is doing his homework during this month to help him before he starts. He already has a major task on his hands if he is wanting to instill his idea's to the squad and get them fitter than last season before the season begins.
Actually could turn out to be a positive this, I have no doubt he will spend the next few weeks researching, reviewing and assessing, the advantage being he can concentrate on this with no distractions and hit the ground running.
Bear in mind that he also has to physically move here, and this will give him time to sort his personal situation out without it being too much of a distraction from his job.
The contractual obligations can be in relation to a previous job ie paying a contract whilst being placed on gardening leave. I simply offered up a suggestion as to why he isn't starting his employment with Barnsley Football Club immediately. I have no idea whatsoever what his previous contract with Hannover 96 was, or how it would affect any future employment and neither does anyone else other than the appropriate parties.
