Both based on das BFC 'model'. Similar players. I just think it shows that some of these stat scouted players can be the perfect fit and some can be duds just like any other way of scouting. Might not work all the time but at least we have our own way (that a couple of clubs were envious of not too long ago).
We can only wonder what "model" discovered Mamadou Thiam. Players like Hourihane and Winnall were hardly revolutionary- it was obvious that they were amongst the best in League Two.
Not at all similar. Hourihane was one of the best players in league 2 and worth signing for a small fee to step up one league. Knasmullner was unknown to most, had never played here, would have had to get stuck in at a higher level than Conor started with us and cost us much more.
To be fair despite his goals hourihane was slow starter in terms of the standard of his performance. However we stuck be him and witinin a season he became the complete all round midfield player and . One of the best we've had
I don't think you can compare these two when you consider one played under a coach who liked him (Connor/Hecky) and one wasn't fancied one bit (Knas/JM).
