Wiseman got some stick mainly because he was one of the managers favourites, and got picked regardless of form. Don't forget there was a period he kept John Stones out of the side. I mean, FFS.

In the Blackburn game someone has referenced, he started at CB while Stones played RB, and got torn to shreds for 20 mins before they swapped. If I remember correctly, that was the only time Stones played at CB for us?

He actually had a period where he played out of his skin, out of position in a back 3 under Flitcroft, but clearly that was as good as his career got.

And then he didn't exactly endear himself to those who weren't a fan when he left...

After leaving Barnsley at the age of 28 - usually seen as being your peak years as a footballer, he never played at the level he left us at again. What does that tell you?

Always found his attitude that day bizarre. He got the nod over Stones yet instead of thinking ‘I’ll prove all them fans wrong’ he put in his worst performance in a Reds shirt & got took off at half time.

Plenty of pace & reasonable going forward although he lacked end product yet his defending was pretty poor, always seemed to be out of position.

If anything he was a better centre back than full back

I’ve put a lot of thought into this before posting and after thinking back on Scott Wisemans performances in a barnsley shirt the only reasonable way I can describe him in his time with us that gives a true reflection is that he was sh**
