    All we have to do is win our next four games. That's all. And the first two of those aren't exactly against footballing greats.
    So why not believe we can win it?
    I just prefer to keep my optimism mooted.
    And if we don't, well, we're all tarn fans. We know how to deal with disappointment as much as anyone.

    As we've only won 5 knockout games since 1966 - Paraguay 3-0 in 86, Belgium 1-0 and Cameroon 3-2 in 90, Denmark 3-0 in 2002 and Ecuador 1-0 in 2006 we'd be doing in 2 weeks what it took us 32 years to do from 1970 to 2002 and against at least two very good sides and two decent ones. Let's get past Colombia first.

    Obviously a sh*t performance and hapless surrender to Colombia on Tuesday is equally possible.

    I’ve been saying amongst family and friends England will get to semis for last couple of months, excepted us to have too much fire power for the Germans but thought we wouldn’t get a kick in the semis against the Spanish, now I genuinely fancy us to get to the final, but the winner of the other side will have to be favourites and it will be a step too far for this young squad, I’ve never wanted to be more wrong though.
