The truth about the current squad

With what we are being told he is sort of a German Hecky.
After Stendel has taken a good look at the players I’m expecting a few players to be leaving.
I watched the 1st division play offs - we shouldn’t have owt to worry about.

 

It's not an exact science this progression thing you know. You can't just steer the club in a direction and everything will fall into place, otherwise the football league would do away with promotion and relegation and form a 92 club premier league.

So you think the people at the club did/do things based on a lack of common sense?

No other factors involved? Just because they're not as clued up as people that post on message boards?

Does this apply to all the club's that sell players for less than their fans think they're worth or just us?

 

We were heading for championship play offs and now we are heading into League 1 with a poor squad.

We weren't heading anywhere. We were well placed but with half a season remaining, and that was fuelled by our away form, we were poor at Oakwell.

Again, you talk about things like they're fact, but it's just your opinion.

The players wanted away, they went to fantastic wages at wealthier clubs.

 

Negative little old Barnsley attitude always holding us back. Could have shown ambition but rather be happy with staying up when 2 points off the playoffs pathetic this will set us back a long long time especially with the new owners.

 

Set who back? The club or your pride?

Clubs been around a long time. A season or two in a lifetime is **** all.

November of this year will complete my 40th year as a reds fan. I've seen some right dross during that time, believe me. Apart from the odd cup run or local derby win there was nothing after hunters promotion until the prem promotion season.

You young lads have been spoilt. Wembley x 3, Millennium, wins at Liverpool and against Chelsea at Oakwell. You've really had some good times courtesy of Barnsley fc, yet you turn on them at every opportunity.

 

The squad ain’t bad, certainly not for League One.

Needs two proper central midfielders who can do the dirty work in the Scowen, Pearson & first half of last season Williams mould. It needs another forward & another winger.

The rest is pretty solid. I’m not a big fan of Zeki Fryers, his one footed-ness drives me mad & Pinillos lacks pace but both will be a lot better in League One if they’re what we end up going with.

Probably sell 1 or 2 more players to balance the books, still got too many attacking midfielders.

As poor as we were last season we had a bucketload of injuries & someone most of us agree was a pretty dreadful manager in charge February onwards as well as having to gel a whole new team & despite all that we were only one goal at Bolton away from staying up. Things are nowhere near as bad as the starter of this post suggests

 

Now that's common sense!

 

Set the club back from being successful and playing at the level we were currently operating by selling off all the players with any quality very cheaply. Sent the club into League 1 obscurity when we'd have been minimum top half championship. Disgraceful but at least we have a club well that's not really an argument is it.

 

Such patronizing nonsense.

You think I haven't stood on a terrace while it was raining watching us getting smashed by Altrincham or sat under a tent while Crawley pulverized us a few days after Donny beat them 5-0. You think I haven't witnessed us win 10 games over a calendar year, lose 8 in a row, not win a home game for 9 months.

Been a lot of grim times certainly more bad than good in the past 10-15 years.

The real truth is that the younger generations have some ambition because we are not bogged down in this little old Barnsley mentality.

 

We had a dreadful manager from August to Feb lets be right.

People act like League 1 is amateur. Fryers & Pinillos will still get mullered week in week out their are a lot of quick tricky wingers in League 1 just look at last time we were down there with Ariyibi, Marshall etc.

And balance the books you'd have thought they may be balanced since we sold off a whole squad not so long ago or shall we just put that under the carpet.

 

They were completely out of their depth no way some of them will be good in League 1

 

If we don't its very worrying we will become like Peterborough
