Gave up trying to debate with some on here. e.g. RK. Whilst diametrically opposed to the politics of someone like JC, at least he puts his pov in a reasonable manner rather than resorting to insults at the first opportunity. On rare occasions we even agree on certain issues.
Given politicians, and businesses are now running scared of upsetting the 'serially offended' and playing virtue signalling at every opportunity , my honest opinion is that PC is in danger of causing more damage to the economy than any other factor (including that which must not be named)

Jonathon Pye's take says it all for me....

    Irish???? thick???
Try playing the uillean pipes!!! (take a relatively simple instrument like bagpipes, add bellows that have to be pumped using the same arm that you use to play the tune, add regulators that play chords using your wrist, and you have a fiendishly difficult instrument to play.

Every now and then Pie absolutely nails a subject and this is one of them times. 100% nailed and I dare say that he is speaking for the majority.

I've just read this thread while not logged in and noticed that one of the posters I have on ignore has quoted me and slightly changed the quote.
Is that allowed? It's a very minor thing but alters the tone of what I was posting.
To be honest it doesn't surprise me in the least and I'm not particularly bothered but surely, in more serious situations, this shouldn't be possible.
