We don't have to sell. £800,000 is nothing. I'd rather see us keep him and let his contract run out than sell him for that little. He can get us goals next season. Unless the club has a good replacement lined up then keep him and play him. A few hundred grand is nothing for the goals we'd lose if he went.

Nobody ever takes into account wages etc when discussing if they've made a profit on a player otherwise there would be very few players sold for profit, Its strictly transfer fee on transfer fee. I don't know why folk on here are bringing this up, if you want a fair argument if you're bringing a players wages, fees etc into it then add into the equation the amount of shirts sold with his name on the back, or the number of extra season tickets or maybe his goals that kept us up in the championship in the first year.

His goals ensured we got 8 extra points in the 16/17 season, we would have gone down with 8 points less. He also scored single goals in 2 four nil wins, we would have got 3 points anyway in those games. What's the cost of relegation? His he now in profit?

Clubs making profits on transfer fees, enjoy it. Unless you want them all to run their contracts down... Winnall, Hourihane, Yiadom, Howard etc etc
