Another example of the modern day transfer market. A 19 years old Swedish Under 21 winger who had a less than impressive season in a relegated side (29 app, 3 goals) is valued at £2 million.

So that makes our first choice pair of goalscorers worth about TWENTY million (for the two)......... right?;)

Instead of getting today's market value we seem happy to roll over and have our bellys tickled.

Hopefully that will change under this regime. All this speculation about Bradshaw leaving for a relatively low fee is just that - speculation and journalistic stirring. If Tom goes, so be it, and good luck to him. But we MUST get full market value for him. I bet Walsall have a sell on clause as part of the deal to get him here so we have to get a multi-million pound deal on the table for him. If they won't pay, he doesn't go. Simple isn't it?

How on earth do you come up with that conclusion under the new regime. I've not seen anything concrete yet to validate your comment.

I said “hopefully”. It wasn’t a stated fact.

I think if you look at Mallan for instance he’s gone with a profit and a sell on clause. To me that tells me we have learnt from past mistakes.

This is a bit like when Winnall went to Wednesday and there was furore over how little we got compared to Brentford selling Hogan to Villa.

For every club that is deemed to give their players away, there is one that pays silly money and gets little in return.

Every transfer is different and I don't think it's fair to say that every board that there is a "Barnsley way" of doing business. Most fans mindset is probably that their clubs don't do good business. Just look at the peanuts we gave for the majority of our last promotion winning squad.

In this market that does not seem like a bas price as I heard he is not a bad player and still very young. Not overly impressive stats but he was a standout player in a woeful side. The one I find more staggering is that Man City have managed to sell Angus Gunn in a deal worth 13.5 million (10 up front, 3.5 in add ons). He has been their 4th choice keeper for ages and has been loaned out a fair few times, I don't think he is a bad keeper but certainly not an amazing one yet gone for that big fee to premier league Southampton. I find that one purely bizarre.

Based on which player sold recently?
