I'm not from that generation but I think it's absolutely class. Love the simplicity. In my eyes that's what makes a good badge
I've never worn a barnsley shirt (just never done football tops) but i'd maybe splash out on one of those for my holidays. More sentimental than style for me as 78-82 ish is where my fondest of barnsley fc memories lay.
Fella, if we had a logo that was a **** and balls, we'd sell thousands. Our shirt sales are not dependent on the logo.
IMHO on this occasion, he’s right though, the only folk they will appeal to are fans of a certain vintage and somebody who just wants a retro look. We should get some money spent and come up with a logo that would appeal to and be popular with fans of all ages.
That's the whole point of the OP though, nobody is calling for it to be next season's shirt etc. It's just a retro shirt and nothing more.
It was more a comment on the whole badge thing , some people will like it, then you get the calls to bring it back,I just find it ridiculous that as a professional club that over the years we haven't been able to come up with a popular image that would please the majority and stand the test of time.
The all red was darker red than the other one. And made of shiny material.. Be good if they made the 83 84 kit...and the 81 82 kit and the late 70s one wi diamonds downt sleeves
The logo is the logo. You're not going to put a modern one on retro shirt from almost 40 years ago. It is what it is, like it or not.
You can get an even older replica shirt off these guys..... https://www.toffs.com/shop-by-team/football/league-one/barnsley
