sounds daft but its probably about right Bradford and Reds just another club to each other Doncaster don't like us but the games between the two teams are about as lively as a morgue At posh I've seen the current owner, barry fry, Fergie when he was there, local MP, Graham Westley and so many of their fans online bitterly either slag off the club or revel in our demises. And even 5 years after they conceded 2 goals in the last 10 minutes they still keep it up. For this reason I don't think you'll find many Barnsley fans who have good feeling towards them. Not saying they'll be big games by any stretch but especially after that match where Conor was a naughty boy I think it is the closest thing we have to a domestic rivalry outside of a 1 hour radius
I would still probably say it’s Sunderland. However, I do agree that I think Peterborough will be decent, made some good signings. Good signings on paper anyway.
I don't see them like that at all. I look for Peterborough away because I like their ground, it's relatively easy for me to get to and the city has a stonking cathedral to look round. And a Chinese (or Thai, can't remember) restaurant on a boat. I can see why they'd be slightly bitter toward us, but at the end of the day they'd have stayed up if they'd not conceded 2 late goals to a Palace side with nothing to play for.
They have one of the best service stations too. You have a point as plenty of their fans to this day think we relegated them the other season.
You say that, I'm mates with loads of Posh fans as they're my local team, most of them don't give us a second thought
East restaurant, love it there! Really nice food and charters pub below is class. Great beers on and often live music too
Posh for me. Live here and it's a fab day out when we play each other. The Mrs supports them and we sit at different sides of the ground. A few beers in charters before and after... the boat of the river and home in about 15 mins. Great..... Poshtyke
In the 1970's, the games against Bradford City were THE games of the season. Fighting between fans was, sadly, the norm, before, during and after the matches. One year, these idiots even made the national news when a police horse was blinded after being hit in the eye by the corner of a brick thrown by one knuckle dragger. Ah, the good, old days(!)
From a rivalry stand point don't think any of the club's in the league this season really do anything for me. Still i am hopeful this means we will actually kick off at 3pm on Saturday a bit more often.
Know a lot of Posh fans, living where I am near Stamford, in the main they're ok, better than the gloryboy Leics and mandatory Man U/Arsenal/Spurs/Liverpool plastics (Chelsea for some reason don't seem to attract as many fakers). They certainly don't view us as any more of a rival than any other team, they seem quite keen on Luton this year. Best thing about London Road was the away terracing, sadly no more.
Unless Posh have upped sticks and moved to Yorkshire, then they're only rivals in as much as them, us, and 22 other clubs, are all up against each other this season.
Totally agree Loved it for an away day. I've recently moved to Oundle so now it's great for me as I can just jump on the bus, win win!
