Sick of all the moaning about every little detail anyone would think we have turned in man utd over night ffs After viewing this site for years decided to sign up as i dont do social media. Picked season tickets up last night really looking forward to season ... Not gonna be coming on here anymore to read about some one moaning about a tiny human error that someone hit the wrong number on the computer than works the scoreboard. Hope you all enjoy the season sithi
I love how whenever anyone is 'done with this site' they feel the need to announce it 1st, rather than just stopping using it.
I think he is trying to.make people aware the reasons he won't be posting anymore. The site has lost quite a few decent posters for the same reason.
Oh yeah I get that. Its just that if I ever felt the need to stop using this forum then I would simply just stop using it rather than write a post to explain why. Each to their own and all that......
I remember on another forum which I don't post on anymore, people always used to say if you knocked the club even slightly for something legitimate on here, there'd always be someone throwing a hissyfit or shouting you down for daring to question whether something could be done a bit better. As much as I enjoy posting on here and reading everyone's views, they definitely weren't wrong in that respect.
You'll be back, i do'nt always like what i read but then again i do'nt always like whats on telly, i choose = this forums the same. BE HEARING FROM YOU SOON.
Its a really good point, and it certainly happens. And it happens in reverse too. And sadly I think people who are reasoned but generally optimists, and those who are questioning but want the club to do well, get dragged into the happy clapper vs negative knockers zero sum diatribe when they don't fit those respective groups. There are some people never happy with anything, and others who are blindingly positive, but I think these are a relative minority, but highly vocal, and there are more people who want well for the club and their views can shift over time depending on circumstance and events. If you can criticise you should also be able to praise, and if you can praise, you should also be able to draw attention to possible improvement at the club.
The lad has every right to announce it , he is making a point about continual moaning & has decided to call it a day , whilst I enjoy the site, I certainly know where he is coming from.
I'd love to be able to get my head around the philosophical insights which can be learned from the practice of moaning about moaning. Bitching about bitching. -Is the latter bitch a victim of the original bitching and therefore blameless in having to resort to negative language to engage in debate? -Are moaners in the default position of neutrality until challenged by others who situate and label them as moaners? -Am I now moaning about moaning about moaning? A triple-bound chain of moans which gets us ever further into the Twilight Zone and away from the crucial issue of whether Cavare's positioning is good enough for him to play ahead of McCarthy? I need a lie down.
In life, there are optimists and pessimists. Even if we dont agree, each and every person is allowed an opinion. Without using insulting words or adopting a patronising attitude, throughout my life so far, I've found that to attempt to change someones view, it's best to put forward my views in a calm, well reasoned discussion. At the end of the day, if my efforts haven't yielded a result, I've respected the other persons right to hold their opinion and we've managed to remain on good terms.I am by nature an eternal optimist, but have to accept that some people always see the down side to almost everything. Whilst that frustrates me, I've come to appreciate, that that is their perogative.
I don't mind anyone who expresses a negative opinion about the club- it's the ones who keep repeating the same point over and over again are the ones who are quite draining at times
Good riddance. Always good to see the back of disciple/beige poster. I hope it's the start of a mass exodus and you're replaced with someone with a respect for and interest in debate.
I do post/ follow a number of other forums ( some politics, some sports) and you know what , their all exactly the same . Same type of bickering and disagreements , just different subjects . The same can be said of Twitter and Facebook , not that I really use them . It's how things are in this day and age . Take it or leave it as far as I'm concerned.
I've started blocking people who do my head in and it's improved the site for me no end and the gaps in the threads doesn't spoil anything because the blocked ones only type miserable ******** anyway.
