Central locking system (NOT remote) on the blink - sometimes works sometimes doesn't.
(mechanic says difficult to sort it out until system packs up completely.)

In the meantime I manage o.k. as I can open/lock doors including the boot manually with key.

BUT is it possible to open the 'flap' that goes over the fuel cap when the central locking system isn't working?

Only one thing for it, and it involves coca cola and pouring.

Yes. Behind the side boot liner near the flap, there is a "puller thingie", like a bent coat hook. Can't remember fully but it is explained in manual. Seem to remember there is a flap that pulls out of side panel and the puller is behind this.
Hope this helps and you find it.
